Q: In a recent answer to Ed you recommended this company as one of the top Canadian REITS that hold US properties ("Tricon (TCN) would be the top of the list." ). However, when I took a look, it is today $12.86, and 5 years ago was 12.00 so not much capital appreciation. The distribution is only 2.2%. It has been the same ($.07) for 5 years, and was one cent less ($.06) for about 5 years before that. In light of what seems to me very lacklustre performance, what makes you put this at the top of your list? Thanks!

This is a very speculative penny stock being pushed by Reddit.
Maybe you should start a new portfolio for speculative growth companies such as Mrs and other small companies in your growth portfolio such as Xbc etc.

Q: Referring to what Ed is saying as accounting beefs on 4/1, with iTrade in the last couple of years they list all the stocks you have sold (Canadian and U.S.) and what you have paid for them (even if they were bought years ago - they have that info.) and they send a copy to the CRA and a copy to the customer. The commissions are already factored in, they are added onto a buy and subtracted from a sell. The tax accountant does not seem to have any trouble getting FX rate as I believe there is a blended rate available at tax time that can be used rather than having to backtrack to find the applicable rate of all stocks bought prior to 2020, etc.

Q: This etf seems well (but not too) diversified. It has gone up 11% since I bought it not that long ago. I do not own a full position and would like to add some units. Is it buyable at current price? Thanks, Bill

I was surprised with your answer to Keith's question (Apr 2) regarding order to dispose stocks. You indicated that after the ETFs, KXS would be the 4th or so stock to sell from the list. This was ahead of AC:CA, WELL:CA and PHO:CA. I thought the recent drop in KXS was primarily due to the general pullback in tech stocks and not the result of any specific company bad news. I also thought that even though the company did well during the lockdown, its business model and market position would also serve it well as the economy recovers, perhaps even better than some of the other stocks listed. Please elaborate on your reasoning especially vis a vis the other 3 named stocks above. Thank you, Ian

Q: Hi guys. I know I’ve harped on this before. When you have a newsletter with thousand of subscribers and you reccomend illiquid stocks it creates frustration with your readers.
For instance with mrs an opening position for me wound be $50000 which is fully half the volume on Thursday. If I put in a market order which I wouldn’t I alone would drive the price up by @approx 20%.
How do readers like me get to participate? Especially on the Venture?

Q: Recent New High(NH)after NH,& after great Q & guide,reached $111.54,All Time High. My p/p $65.45,now 5.5% position after 67% gain. Is it time to trim or allow to continue to run. Your view please. Thanks for U usual great views & services
