Q: why has MITK had such a run recently?
Apps,GH,Pins,Mitk....which ones would you sell for tax-loss and what would be you favorite replacement in the tech sector.

Q: I know that this is an unfair question - sorry. I realize that ARKK and AMD are two different investments, but if 5i had a chunk of money to invest in one of these two, which would it be? On a similar note, is Intel a better investment than AMD?

Q: Hi 5i
It is my understanding that in a non-registered account I can receive up to +/- $50,000 (BC/Fed combined tax rate) in Canadian dividends without being taxed. Is that correct?
If so, I was hoping that you could provide a list of 20 Canadian dividend stocks that you have confidence in that have:
1) a 4% yield or higher
2) are not in or associated with the Oil/Gas sector
3) hopefully enough growth to keep up with inflation

Q: I’d like to start a position in one or more income funds that offer a very high yield, but I’m not sure which ones to choose. As of Wednesday Oct 5th, these are the indicated yields I’ve found:

Would you recommend any of these or do you have other suggestions? Are any of them too risky if the bear market deteriorates from here, or can they all be held long term? Are some of these yields too good to be true, like CLM and PDBC? Thanks for your thoughts.

Q: I am trying build a list of buy and forget core stocks for each sector. I hold the following utilities in various accounts: FTS, BIPC, BEPC, AQN, NEE, BLX, NPI. Can you please rank these for safety and also for growth. I hold BLX in a corp account because it has the lowest yield - do you see BLX as a long term buy and forget stock? Thanks.

Q: Hello,

I am concerned holding BAM into the spin. Historically the lesser attractive piece has sold off substantially during the spin (e.g. bbu.un, bip.un, bep.un).

Do you think the same will happen here with the asset heavy business selling off and people gravitating to the manager?

Q: Good afternoon,

I'm planning to sell BNS for tax loss selling and will buy BAM.A with the funds. I'm also planning to sell a put (about 3-6 months out) on BNS for the purpose of collecting the premium. From what I can tell, this would not be an issue on the tax loss side given that I don't necessarily get to buy the shares, correct? I'd also be ok with having to rebuy if called.

Please let me know if there's anything else I should consider wrt this idea.
