Q: I am looking to potentially harvest some tax loss for future use and have the following questions:
BTE - if I sold BTE, what is a good proxy to park the money in with similar torque to improving sector fundamentals?
PTE - is there any hope for this or is it finally time for me to accept that it was a bad investment
Nobilis - I noticed it reappeared on the OTC as NRTSF but looks like the price and volumes are close to zero (or am I missing something?)....time to donate to my broker in exchange for a capital loss?

Thanks as always!!!

Q: I am down quite a bit on these energy stocks. Some CNBC announcers think this is a good time to buy Canadian energy. Do you think these are a hold with a 2 year time frame?

Q: I am a "buy and hold" long term investor. I have held these stocks for over five years on the assumption that at least one of the pipelines would be built and the stocks would regain at least some of their losses. Of course that hasn't happened. With the Covid-19 situation I am concerned about a serious downturn in the economy during the next 18 months. As these stocks are already extrememly low, I am wondering if they will survive, let alone improve, during the next year or so. Based on income, debt levels, and future prospects, please rank each company according the possibility of failure.

Q: Which are the 5 "most likely to go bankrupt" oil and gas companies?

Q: Good morning,

Looking to clean up my oil and gas names but don't mind keeping some or adding others to maintain some exposure.

How would you rank TOG/TOU/BTE/WCP in terms of bounce back potential/likelihood of survival/balance sheet strength? What is you top two?

Do you much prefer SU, PXT, FRU, BIR vs the above names? What are your favourite oil/gas names at this time?

Thanks

Q: I know you are not a fan of Baytex. I hold it and Vermillion. Can I get your thoughts on their ability to survive this onslaught? I realize you have no way to know where oil prices will land and for how long they will stay depressed, but can BTE and VET take concrete measures to ensure they survive ?

Q: Hi, I am down $18,433 on Baytex energy on 1000 sh bought over 16 years ago. (yeah I know stop loss) Yes, there is no need to sell it but I would appreciate A professional opinion on this sector.
Canada is in a very difficult place and we are being squeezed from many sides and in many ways. In this sector what do you recommend, to actually make money in the next 1- year. Thanks James PS I have been patient long enough.

Q: In a recent answer to a question on an oil company, you mentioned that it is hard to be optimistic on a company if you don't like the management team. So my question is, which of the management teams in the oil sector would you want to align yourself with, and why? Alternatively, which of the management teams would you not align yourself with? Please deduct as many credits as necessary to fully answer my question. Thank You.

Q: Hello,
Reading back through your comments on Baytex, it appears you are not large fans.. However, in the last question, you mention it has strong free cash flow yield.. I understand that you don't trust the management team, but in this environment where all management teams are in survival mode and paying down debt or buying back shares, don't you want to align with the best free cash flow companies?
Thanks,

Q: Eric Nutall at Ninepoint keeps on saying he is buying heavy into energy space companies that are trading around 2.5 EV to Cashflow. Just wondering what some of the better names he’d be buying into may be. Any idea or suggestions?
