Q: wanting to make an accurate analysis on this company .with insiders selling will they have incetive or become fat cats ? would you feel comfortable buying
Q: I currently hold STC, CSU, SHOP, KXS and OTEX as tech in a well-diversified portfolio. I am thinking of selling OTEX in order to get more long term growth. I want to maintain my diversification in tech but also don't want to add on significantly more risk. I was thinking of adding one of LSPD, CRWD or U.
You have mentioned in the past LSPD and SHOP could be seen as similar. I could use a US-based investment so does it boil down to CRWD or U? Or, given my parameters, just stay the course or is there another equity you think may fit better?
Q: JWEL , Jamieson Wellness, reported recently and had a management change. Could you please comment on the new management. Thoughts on the recent earnings and what your opinion on the stock overall touching on insider ownership, cash flows, valuation , the market for their product and the competition. Would you buy, hold or sell? Thanks
Q: With so much attention on EV’s, questions
related to charging stations - and battery suppliers are becoming more important.
I am looking for a basket of companies in which to invest that 5i believes can benefit from these developments.
As part of this theme I am wondering:
1. Where will people recharge their vehicles?
Will traditional gas stations - including companies like ATD.B and PKI - retrofit some of their gas pumps to charging stations?
2. Who will supply the volume of batteries that are expected to be required? As someone said the other day “ right now Tesla owns the “bakery” ....which gives it a huge competitive advantage over the other potential competitors.
Q: What would you suggest as a way to gain exposure to Electric Vehicles (EV’s)?
I have electric producers, as a common denominator, but wonder whether direct investment into auto or parts makers, and/or battery components (lithium/graphite) would be worthwhile.
I know there are many ETFs to pick from these days. I know your team is naturally growth investors, so that being said, what are some of your personal favourites? Can be thematic or index!
Q: Is Xbc just getting hit from market downturn.Do you still see hold for future in this stock. Also will NGA be reporting any financial updates regarding Lion Trucks investment. Is POW also involved with LION as shareholder etc. Tks 5I
Q: Do you concur with seeking Alpha? Thanks!
Canadian Solar Inc. (CSIQ) is cheaply valued. Especially considering its growth potential. The company has a strong backlog in energy projects and plans significant production capacity expansion. It is also planning to unlock value by an IPO in China of a subsidiary. The relative valuation to peers looks good as well. The company had a strong performance over the past year, it's still a bit behind other solar stocks as shown by the Invesco Solar ETF (TAN).
Q: Good Morning 5i,
A number of stocks such as GSY, SHOP, and LSPD seem to have been long time 5i favorites identified early-on that have done quite well to-date and appear to have a lot of room left to run.
Finding 'the next' is why a lot of us are here. Regardless of industry, is there a company or two that might not be favorites yet but are on your 'watch list'.
(Also understanding that nothing is guaranteed. If it was easy to identify 'the next' then we'd all be sipping drinks on the beach right now)
Q: I've portioned off a smaller amount of my portfolio into a separate unregistered account, reserved for growth names. Currently holding GRN, KRR, PRN, QST, STC, WELL. I have cash for 4 more names, will hold for up to 6 years. I was thinking about SIS. XBC is already held in my TFSA. Can you please suggest 4 growth names to consider that would complement the existing holdings? Thanks.
Q: I was hoping to hear your thoughts on VERY. I sent in a question about this company a few days ago, and elected to re-send the question in the event the message was not received. If you received the earlier message and have been working on a response, please accept my apologies for asking twice. In any event, as always, I look forward to your insight. Have great day!
Q: I have some money available to invest. Are there any 'must own' stocks, either Canadian or US, that are currently at or near their 'must buy' prices, that you would recommend? Or should I keep the cash on the sidelines for now? Thanks
Q: Can you identify a couple Canadian and U.S. opportunities created by today's selloff? Growth focused 1-3 year timeframe, favourites that have crossed into comfortable "buy" territory?
