Q: I can't add to my RIF, I can't put more than $5,500 in my TFSA annually, so my unregistered cash account is holding shares that will mean major capital gains. I have trimmed periodically, but currently ATD.B is up 1,068 %, SQ up 119%, NVDA up 324%, SHOP up 207%, BYD.UN up 118%. I am not complaining. I offer 5i my sincere thanks for your advice over several years that has been so rewarding. I tend to hold overly long , so I am wondering whether I should in future sell when a stock has reached, say 40%, and buy another stock? What to do?

Q: Hi, Dollarama was added to your Growth portfolio recently with full position. The stock was quiet for several weeks but took off recently to $169 (+10% since added). I bought a few shares at $158, during recent decline. However, with the market jitters (coupled with Desjardins downgrade citing valuation) specially over past two days, tested the lows of last quarterly release. Valuation seems to be still expensive. What's your take for short/long term ? For now, it's a tiny 1% position for me. Should I take advantage of the pull back and add or just liquidate ? Thanks

Q: Hi Team,

I sold my holdings of AVO, (Thanks for that one!). I own the entire balanced portfolio, and would like to deploy the cash in a company that has been beat down a bit in the last little while that has good upside potential. I was thinking DOL but would like a few suggestions.

Thanks,

Jamie

Q: Hi 5i Team,
Please provide your stock recommendations (growth companies) for an investor who is interested in making regular fixed lump sum contributions to the same entities month after month . Time horizon for contributing to the holdings is 2-3 years.
Thanks for your great work!

Q: I own about 70% of the growth portfolio and the balanced portfolio at about 30%. The momentum for those 2 companies is certainly positive, I want to get a full position on one of the two mentioned above for 2 or 3 yrs. which one would you suggest today?
Thank you as always.

Q: Hi There,
This is a two part question regarding my kids RESP account.
The first question, I hold a full position of REI.UN in this account and just learned that as of November, Riocan has suspended their DRIP program. In light of this and the recent weakness, I am considering selling REI.UN and replacing it with CSH.UN. Is this something you think would be prudent, or should I replace it with something other than CSH.UN? (see second part of question)
If I replace REI.UN with CSH.UN I will still have enough cash to buy a position in two of the following stocks, DOL, NFI, GC, PHO, GSY .
In this account I currently hold BNS, MG, FFH,OTEX & REI.UN with a five plus year time frame.
Thank you for your assistance.

Q: Can you recommend you top five growth stocks for my TFSA. I would like to take full advantage of tax free growth in this account. Rest of my portfolio is well balanced in my other registered and non-registered accounts. Time frame is 5 to 10 years.

Q: Could you please rank the three Balanced Portfolio consumer non-cyc names along with Dollarama separately for growth potential, value and risk?

Q: Scotia shows outstanding shares for Dollarama declining from 144 million, in 2014, to an estimated 103 million in 2020. Is it within the realm of possibility that management continues to purchase shares and decrease the share count to the point where just privatizing the company becomes the logical end game?

Thanks for your opinion. I look forward to renewing my subscription before the end of January.
