Q: We have sold out of USA Tech and have several full positions of USA $ in registered accounts. I no longer wish to devote as much attention to investments.
We know that USA is not your forte but could you recommend a couple of dividend paying "layups". Buy it and forget it ? We acknowledge that nothing is a sure thing.
Thanks for Your help

Q: I have these three in my TFSA. I just read that holding QCOM in it is a potential problem due to the withholding tax. Is that also the case for MSFT and V. Can you explain the problem further and if it is an issue should I be transferring these stocks out of the TFSA and into a registered or open account? Thnks.

Q: I would to start a position in all 3 of above mentioned stocks, however, based on today,s action I am thinking I should, I love the long term prospects of all 3, and will be a long term holder. Especially the first two, I really like the exposure to the av technology, I think it’s coming sooner than most people think, and I think it will transform many industries, your general thoughts would be most appreciated

Q: These are the US holdings in my RSP. All have done well except for SYK down about 8% with a limited outlook for the rest of 2020 based on the Covid pandemic. Regardless of sector weighting, what are your favorite 2 or 3 US equities for growth over the next 5 years? I'm okay with a moderate risk.
Thanks in advance,
Greg.

Q: Have held Visa for some years and possibly one of the best stocks I own .recently I bought Square I guess its doing okay.
I had not paid any attn to PYPL. recentlyone of your answers you out pypl visa and sq on about the same level.

I would love an explanation in layman terms

Q: Can you give me names of 10 companies - CDN and U.S - that you feel have:
* strong balance sheets,
* a strong likelihood to survive or thrive in the current environment
* appear to be of good current value with an eye on a potentially strong rebound given a bit of time.
Your opinion is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Q: Hi, I'm looking to add to the fintech world. I'm sure online purchases and contact-less (cash less) payments only continue to increase.

What is your favorite growth stock in this category (1) overall, and (2) one that is well positioned to succeed in both the physical space (contact less at stores) and online (web payments).

Q: I am wondering how you would categorize these companies (V, SQ,PYPL) in relation to one another and if you had to pick 2 to invest in for growth over 10 plus years which ones would you pick? I liked the digital payments theme prior to COVID-19 and think it will clearly accelerate the move to less cash and more digital payments (in-store or online) more e-commerce.
VISA is the largest payment processor in the world (according to your information under stocks profile page) so they process the most payments right now online and in-store.
SQUARE is obviously not as big as Visa but they would be similar in being in both markets (online and in-store payments processing), but Square would be more of an all in one solution for e-commerce, payment processing for Small and Medium sized busineses plus CASH APP and investing etc.
PAYPAL would seem to be similar to Visa in that it is mainly a payment processor (with Honey acquisition maybe adjusting this course somewhat?) but would be essentially be ONLINE payment processing only, so maybe more of a pure play online payment stock? and any main reason why Visa has such great margins compared to Paypal? on its earning call Paypal said "On May 1st, we had our largest single day of transactions in our history, larger than last year's transactions on Black Friday or Cyber Monday." which was extremely bullish to me...

Q: Good Day

I have journaled over 1/2 of my SHOP position to the US side of my TFSA. I was contemplating selling to accomplish a few things, lock in some gains(1300%), reduce my overall portfolio weight and to increase my US exposure. Considering a basket of TEAM,MICROSOFT,VISA and AMAZON to replace. What is your opinion on this move and would you recommend anything else to add?
Thank you for your continued guidance.

Q: I have a 5.5% weighting in my portfolio. About 130% gain in a non-registered account. The economy is ground to a halt abruptly probably for quite a few months if not years. I wonder if it is a good time to trim down, bite the bullet and pay the capital gains tax at the high marginal tax rate and buy back to full position when it reaches the bottom? or grin and bear some near term volatility, stick with it for the long term as the economy will be back in a year or two?
