Q: Hi. These companies are all from the industrial group of the S & P Dividend Aristocrats list. I'm looking to invest in one or two of them, to hold for the long term. Do any stand out to you? Any that you would avoid?

Q: In my opinion the U.S. China trade relations will soon improve. One reason being Trump does not want to go into an election without the economy firing on all cylinders. Can you suggest a stock that will benefit from the easing of trade barriers.

Q: Thanks for the News Update. and it mentions adding Industrials. For that last few weeks, I'm pondering adding industrial positions to my balanced, diversified US portfolio. I assigned a 15% weighting to the US industrial sector. My current positions are UTX at 4.6% weighting and FDX at 2.6% These two total 7.2% and as a result, I could add 7.8%. Please provide a few US names in this sector for my consideration, including adding to bring FDX to 4%........Appreciate you insights....Tom

Q: Currently UTX is the only industrial stock in my portfolio and I would like to add two or three more to bring industrials up to 15 to 20% of my total portfolio. I have a very long-term total return focus. What are your favorite industrial stocks (either Canadian or US) at this time? thx

Q: Hi team !
In order to beef up my industrial sector, I am looking for one or two names with the best growth potential, moderate risk for a 2-3 years time frame.
In addition to the names listed above, I am looking at NV5 Global (nvee) and Arcelor Mital (mt). Feel free to suggest other options.
Grateful if you would formulate your recommandations at this time with the reason why and your preference. Do you own any of these stocks ?
Please deduct credits as you see fit.
A grateful Montrealer,
Jacques

Q: Good Morning Team

I presently own the Industrial companies in your Balanced Equity Portfolio bar CAE and I owe ITW and HON in the US. would like to add another industrial to bring my total weight in Industrials to 16%. Thinking of either CAT or CSL (Carlisle Companies). which would you recommend in terms of valuation and growth, or would you side with CAE.Thank-you in advance and have a great week-end! Sam

Q: 5i Team,

What do I do with my mining oriented stocks? Specifically, I own Caterpillar (CAT), Major Drilling Group (MDI) and Horizon North Logistics (HNL), all of which are impacted by the health / death (life support?) of the mining sector. Unfortunately for me, these 3 companies once represented about a 10% weighting in my portfolio, now down to approximately 8%. I still like the companies, and I do have time on my side (I'm 30 years old), but everytime I turn on BNN or read the Globe, its all doom and gloom for the sector, certainly for the rest of 2013 and likely first half of 2014. Is this bad news already baked into the price (hence CAT rallying the past 2 days?) or can I see another big decline from here as more and more pundits preach how bad the sector is? Should I sell and take my 15-20% loss or just tuck these away for a couple of years and wait for the inevitable recovery in the sector?

I think its worth mentioning that I expect to double the size of my investment portfolio within the year, so I will likely be able to waterdown / dillute my portfolio exposure to the sector from 8% to 4% that way (unless you tell me to buy more of course!).

Thanks!
