I hold these stocks GLXY, DOO, GUD, LSPD, NPI, SHOP and TVE, if it was your portfolio would you keep them?

Q: Hello team,
Following OPEC'S meeting this week-end seems like there is much confusion and a panic reaction as to the extension of cuts into 2025 but also the fazing out of some cuts in October. I am looking at averaging down on Tamarack and looking more at there disciplined approach to paying down debt and repurchasing shares.Is this a good opportunity to purchase and looking at holding for the next year or so?

Q: Good Day 5i team!

My question is around DRX and your thoughts around taking a bigger position? The stock has had a good run, has work in the pipeline and will likely gain some traction fueled by high-rise residential and infrastructure work. Next TVE, which I hold a small position in my RRSP and am thinking about adding more. Mostly due to the dividend and that energy should be a growth area in the coming years.

Q: Greetings:
Yesterday, March 25 you gave a good rundown on Tve in answer to a question from Norwood. I bought 1850 shares on March 7, 2023 @ 4.11. The reports by 5i and others at that time were very encouraging, as they are today. It went down and stayed there all year, until very recently. It is cheap compared to some other oil names-- Agree or no?. I am interested in buying more but need your opinion. The other very important matter is from Ink Research who today reports that there is a short squeeze on TVE. Could you please provide the % of shorts? Doesn't it seem odd that there would be a short squeeze. ? If you agree, would it be better to wait until it settles down? I await your valued input. With thanks, Ben.

I own ath bte tve, I bought them during the dark days of the oil patch, my big purchase was ath, I averaged down from
$ .60 to $.12, at the bottom I thought it was over, anyways as the price moved up I starting selling, just happy to escape with my life. I have a little left, but as it has gone up so much I don't think there is more upside left in another stock, thinking about buying more tve or bte, what do you think, or do you have other oil's that have decent upside?

Q: Hi 5i,
I'm looking for guidance respecting TVE, which I've owned for quite a long time. I feel my investment is basically near dead money, treading water just to stay afloat - but I freely admit I'm not knowledgeable enough about the O&G world to properly analyze future prospects of a company based on amount and location of reserves, BOE/day etc. etc.
I've read your answers to recent past questions about TVE, and know you think it's a takeover candidate, with the acquirer paying around a30% premium.
CIBC has a target price on the stock of $4.50. Morningstar's fair value is $4.89 and CFRA rates it a strong sell with every criterion it applies being negative, except valuation which it pegs at "neutral". National Bank meanwhile rates it an outperformer with a target of $6.50. So it seems those experts are pretty much all over the map. Meanwhile all I know for a fact from my personal involvement is that TVE has done precious little to reward shareholders either in terms of capital appreciation or dividends (compared to others out there like WCP et al) for quite some time. Even having bought and held since April of 2020 hasn't led to much compared to many others in the sector.
After that longwinded preamble my questions are:
- Am I justified in thinking that the likelihood of meaningful capital appreciation and/or dividend returns in the next year or so is quite remote, and
- Based on your experience what would an acquirer pay for outstanding shares? Would it be the 30% premium you mentioned in a previous answer, so about $4.55/share or have I misunderstood you?
My inclination is to sell and be done with it because I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel except the speculative chance of TVE being acquired and there are lots better places to put one's TFSA money.
I would sure appreciate your thoughts.

Q: With the prices of some oil stocks down significantly in the past 6 months, do you think that some of the larger companies (SU, CNQ, etc) would want to take over some of the smaller players at a nice discount? A bit speculative, but can you identify some of the smaller takeover candidates?
