Q: The company's has undertaken an acquisition strategy. Initial quarterly results have just come in. Do you feel this is a viable strategy and where could CIX be in 5 years? That said, at this price point ($14.30 or so a share) and a healthy dividend, could money be made on the stock over the next 2-3 years? Is $30 a share doable? Thank you

Q: Happy Friday,
With the current dip and a further downside expected are there any income equities that you would classify as very attractive.
Looking for some new ideas. I have lots of banks, pipes, telcos, utilities, insurance cos, etc. but am not immune to buying more.
Anything in the US really strike you fancy?
Thanks very much and have a great weekend.

Q: Hello 5i
You are often asked if you could provide 2-3 "bargains" from the various portfolios - could you, given the current environment, provide
- 2-3 from the balanced / Income portfolios
- 2-3 outside of the portfolios (either Canadian or US please)
That you would consider a good opportunity to pick up at this time.
Thanks

Q: In an answer earlier this year, you mentioned IGM as having "turned itself around"; did you mean (for example) changes in its business practices, or its break-out from its pre-pandemic trading range? In another answer, you spoke of CIX's "high leverage to capital markets"; how do CIX, FSZ, and IGM compare in this respect? You've characterized the sector as "fairly cheap, with not a whole lot of organic growth and lots of pressure on margins"; given this backdrop (and assuming the sector is even investable), is IGM's relative market cap (3X CIX, 10X FSZ) a material reason to prefer it over the other two? Or is CIX's depressed share price (and implied growth-potential) more decisive?
Q: Could I have your opinion on C I Financial , CIX
Q: Hi!
In The Globe recently:
"On March 4, chair of the board of directors Bill Holland bought 50,000 shares at a price per share of $20.20 for an account in which he has indirect ownership (WH Corp.), increasing this particular account’s position to 1,325,000 shares. The cost of this purchase exceeded $1-million.
Last month, we reported that Mr. Holland invested over $4.4-million in shares of CI with the purchase of 200,000 shares between Feb. 3 and Feb. 23.
Mr. Holland is CI’s former chief executive officer.
The company pays its shareholders a quarterly dividend of 18 cents per share or 72 cents per share yearly, equating to a current annualized yield of approximately 3.7 per cent."
What would you value CI right now on a per share basis?
Given the present investing environment would full position be a good idea?
Is management trustworthy and effective?
Is the insider buying significant enough to copycat?
Thank you as always!

Q: I have losses in ANRG, AT, CIX, DOO, DSG, NVEI, PIF, SPB, STC, TIXT. Would you add to any of holdings or sell?
In what order would you sell?
In what order would you sell?
Q: Cix has had a significant drop since November and they keep doing acquisitions, could comment as they seem to be low price for purchase-growth ?
Q: Looking for a few ideas of beaten up 3% or more dividend payers? I already own SLF, WCP, and ZEB. Current portfolio holdings are made up 19% energy, 35% tech, 15% financial services, 20% consumer cyclicals, less than 5% in the rest. Not too worried about divirsification, I sleep well even when blood is running in the streets.
Q: CI Financial is down almost 14% in the last month. Recent numbers appear good. Has CI just got caught up in the recent market downturn and do you feel now is a potential buying opportunity to acquire more shares? Also, as they continue to acquire Investment Advisors, mostly in the US, and their AUM increases, do they become a desirable takeover candidate? Do you see a Canadian bank or other financial company like Power Corp making an offer at some point in the future? What is the likelihood of a takeover in your opinion on a 1-10 basis whereby 10 is most likely. Many thanks in advance for your answer.
Q: If you owned CIX, would you sell and buy which of CPX and H. Please provide rationale behind your recommended approach.
Q: With the recent buying spree of CIX should we expect a stock issue ?
Q: I like the recent q report. The stock still seems underpriced compared to similar US companies which may be a good comparable as almost all of its growth is coming from the US business. It looks like the street is taking more interest. Your thoughts please.

Q: What 5 stocks (Can and US) now in the bargain bin seem most likely to turn out to be gems in 2 or 3 years time? Much of the market seems very expensive at an uncertain time.
Q: your comments on the results would be appreciated. They seem t be executing well.
Q: The company has made a series of US acquisitions in the past 2 years which have attracted the attention of US investment community and it now lists on the NYSE. Comparable companies in the US trade at p/es of 20 while CI trades at under 7. I realize that p/e is only one measure of value but I would think that if the acquisitions prove successful then the company's shares may be re-rated to a higher multiple. In the meantime it pays a dividend of just under 4%.
Q: CIX seems to be making it's number of acquisitions but it's share price don't seem to move much.Could you comment ?
Q: What is your view on CIX going forward? Buy, Hold or SELL?
