Q: I am looking to add to the consumer defensive part of my portfolio, I already own Loblaws (L:CA) and Costco (COST:US). What other stocks do you recommend based on low debt/strong balance Sheet, secure and growing dividend, and some growth.

Q: Hello 5i
As a value investor, SYZ is sold with a loss. PepsiCo, bought a while ago has an increase by the same amount as the loss. The dividend is 2.6%. If I sell Pepsico what suggestions would there be to replace these that have a signficant dividend? I am a 77 year old value investor with a ten year time frame with stocks and 16 ETF's in all 11 sectors, 6 ETF's of which are covered call. Any suggestions as to this strategy would be appreciated. Please take as many credits as required.

Q: My recent question about defensive growth stocks - let me rephrase it as I was after growth in defensive sectors . In defensive sectors I would appreciate your advice on top 3 growth stocks within each sector for 5-10 year hold. For example, in staples sector, could you advise top 3: COST, ATD, MED, CELH, PEP, MDLZ, BYD, DRVN, MNRO, or others. Q: Thanks 5i for your valuable inputs. I owe KHC for about past 4 to 5 years and am down about 50%. For a long term hold with appetite for risk would you recommend to hold and ride it out or suggest something better in the same sector.

Q: My advisor has suggested I average down buy these two stocks PEP and K (underwater on both). I'm hesitant to proceed that way and would rather look at consumer discretionary ideas with more growth. What would you suggest? I consider myself an aggressive investor. Looking for a 2-3 year hold.

Q: Would you consider PEP a re-opening security? It reports on February 11, 2021 . Do you expect performance above consensus?
Do you have Forward P/E and PEG? I have PEG at 6.6 . But ROE *seems* over 50% . Is that the correct correct ROE? If yes, PEG at 6.6 does not look right.
Analysts are awfully lukewarm on the business. Is PEP worth holding on to if one is looking for for both modest growth, and dividend, or do you expect PEP to act more like a bond going forward?

Q: I have room for 5 or 6 more companies in my RRSP account. Q: Would you consider PEP a buy today? They seem to have done a lot of work on making their operation more efficient and are looking at greatly improving their EPS in 2020 ( EST $5.96). I do not have anything in the Food industry in my portfolio .Is there another company(ies) in this industry that in your estimation be a better choice.

Q: Hello 5i,
I am up $3000 to $4000 on JPM, MMM, PEP and others. I am down $3000 on KWH, RME, TCL.A. and others. I do not need money and can stay invested in all. I am retired, 72, with good pensions. I am inclined to just stay put and collect dividends. Should I sell and apply the losses to the gains or just stay put as I am inclined to do?
