Q: Hi there,

I'd like to own 8 companies listed in the USA (but not necessarily USA based companies). The holding period can be 5 - 10 years or more as I am many years from retirement. I would like to focus on companies that have a moat and pricing power and strong earnings growth now and anticipated future earnings growth.

I am leaning towards an oil company, an insurance company, a resource company, a semi conductor or 'tech' stock, and the financial services industry. I want to avoid stocks de jour as I got badly burned this year in things like upstart, apps, and unity, although I understand that upstart may benefit from AI and I am open to considering that one as well.

I am considering: Abbv, Lnth, Sanofi, ISRG, Visa, Fisv, Nvda, STmicroelectronics NV, Sea Limited, Meli, and Anet, Mckesson Corp, Oxy or COP, among others.

I am not asking for a full report on any of the names above, just trying to throw a few names out that I was looking at. I am also open to etfs.

What would be your top 8 picks (not necessarily the ones I've mentioned)? I am okay with risk. Thank you,

Jason

Q: How about buying this high multiple stock in this market. Is it still the leader in it's field.
Need to buy 2 stocks in healtcare. One growth one income. PFE is around 52 week low with a 4.1% dividend.
Would like to know your favorites at this time.

Thanks for your support in these uncertain times!

Q: If one wishes to invest in the Artificial Intelligence sector, what are the best stocks (growth) to consider w/ 3-5yr horizon?

Q: Hi,
Of this list do any of these names have concerns and if so, what might they be? Are there any you would wish to wait longer before buying? Any you do not think appropriate buys in this market? Others you feel are more compelling? If you were to buy these, in what order would you do so? I know - lots of questions - feel free to deduct accordingly! My preference is for stability of future earnings, lower or no debt and the dividend is a bit of a bonus, but not something to rely on. Many thanks!

Q: Over the past two years with the downturn of the market, I am down significantly with majority of these holdings in various accounts. I have a long-term 10+ year outlook, so looking to see if you feel any of these can be sold off given the outlook, management of the company? If so, what are your recommendations for a growth investor in either CAD/US stock options?

Thanks!!

Q: I know you guys try to answer exactly the question that was asked, which is good. However, I was surprised to see BB in a recent answer to your favourite Canadian companies that offer disruptive technology (AI, quantum, other). In the past, you were always negative on BB for its poor earnings record and shrinking revenue base, etc. Are you getting more positive on BB’s growth prospects or perhaps there are not that many Canadian companies to satisfy the question? Also, what would be your top 5 U.S. disruptive names, where the pickings are a lot thicker?
Thanks

Q: I read an article last night talking about if you had purchased AAPL stock on it's IPO 42 years ago at 22$ and invested 10G at that time and held until now the value not including the small div they pay would be roughly 14Million$ after all the splits your share count went from 400+ to over 100,000+ shares.. I know it is a tough call and this is more of a fun exercise but could you name a few companys/stocks that one day may return something like this over 30-40 year time block Canadian or USA..

Thanks

Q: I have a significant amount of cash to invest. I would like to allocate to some very high-quality stocks across various industries that can be bought and held for a long period of time so they can compound. If you could pick 10 companies that meet this criteria, what would they be? I was thinking about BAM, MSFT, V, COST, CP, UNH, HD, JNJ, GOOG, BRK.b but am open to suggestions or changes to this list. No banks or energy please.

Q: Can you provide me with an artificial intelligence ETF both canadian and US.
Also what large and small capstocks are at the forefront of this new trend.
Sort of like Microsoft, intel and Cisco in their infancy.

Q: Hi, I am looking for quality US stocks that do not give out a dividend like BRK.B and GOOG and are unlikely to start issuing dividends in the next years. Can you suggest 4-5 other names?

Q: I bought NVIDIA years ago and have been considering trimming as I’m overweight, and now want to take advantage of stocks that have recently dropped. I am a long term investor focused on growth with medium-high risk, what 3-4 stocks Canadian and U.S. do you recommend to help compliment my holdings? My US holdings are GOOG, COST, ISRG, V and my CAD tech holdings are CSU, TOI, KXS, and STC.

Q: ISRG is now under $200/share. I thought I would add to it if it fell below $200, and now that it has I am not sure if I should average down. I am down 40% already.

Why should I NOT average down at this time?

What price would you consider adding to this stock?

In this market many growth stocks have fallen considerably. I know you don't like averaging down, but at some point you will have to unless you have owned growthy stocks for 3 to 5 years then you are still positive.

thanks,
Paul
