Q: Hello,

I am looking to get exposure into semiconductors market with 2-5 year time horizon. Which of the two (NVDA or INTC) would you consider as a better investment and would you suggest any other options in the US market. Thanks in advance!

can you give me your top pick for a semiconductor stock for long term hold. and if your pick is not Intel (which I assume it will not be ), can you advise re intel as a long term investment (I like dividends ). also, can you provide advice on Camtek ltd. Q: Greetings 5i,

What are your thoughts on INTEL? What are your thougths on the domestic tailwinds via Biden Administration and roughly 75B in federal support for domestic chip manufacturers? Seems almost like the industry is being considered a matter of national sercurity in the US and will back the chip makers. Are there other companies who stand to do well in this environment?

I know that you always suggest trading/buying into positive momentum but if you were to choose some stocks (regardless of sectors), on both the CDN and US sides, what would they be? As we are all aware, there is a lot of red out there in certain sectors.

With the current dip and a further downside expected are there any income equities that you would classify as very attractive.

Looking for some new ideas. I have lots of banks, pipes, telcos, utilities, insurance cos, etc. but am not immune to buying more.

- 2-3 from the balanced / Income portfolios
- 2-3 outside of the portfolios (either Canadian or US please)

Q: Hi 5i,

Looking for additional exposure in the semi-conductor market. I currently already have a 3% weighting in NVDA. I am looking to potential start a position in AMD or INTC.

Your previous answers to questions suggest you favour AMD (after NVDA) given the companies recent execution.

However, INTC seems to be turning a corner with there plans to build new plants in Arizona in the next few years and change in management. Based on its current valuation (cheap compared to AMD) the current tailwinds of 'on shoring' it seems to me a compelling buy compared to AMD.

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Appreciate all you do.

Q: Hello! When examining my portfolio there are definitely areas that are working and areas that clearly are not like emerging markets, gold, and high growth tech. These are a much smaller portion of my portfolio. However, does it make sense to exit these areas if one can get out with no loss/minimal loss and reallocate the money to something like Sunlife, Enbridge, BCE, etc.. if one also needs dividend income. The reason for owning gold, emerging markets/international equity and high growth was for diversification but if primary reason for investing is income/stability I'm just wondering if it makes any sense at all to own these other clearly more risky areas. Thanks and I look forward to your expertise!

Q: Hi 5i Team - Could you provide some insight into the shortage of chips and the disruption this is causing. In particular is the lack of supply due to raw materials and if so which materials, manufacturing capabilities, transportation holdups, or any other factors. Also do you have an educated guess as to approximately when the situation could start to ease up. Thank you.
