Q: A 60 % move on one contract announcement! For the stubborn investor like me that held on, is this the catalyst for a turn around? Thoughts please moving forward.

Q: Hi Team,
On your response to M Atal today, I am concern by
"The main issue is the tax deferral set up". ?
Horizons has already had to change its structure to adapt to new tax regulations. Horizon clients knows that, I had HXT & HXCN before the change structure. The change structure was made smoothly.
Can you develop "The main Issue" ? Do you mean Horizon will not be able to maintain the TRI structure in future ?
I like TRI structure for deferred gains.
Thanks
Best Regards

Q: do you like this company. insiders own 21% not very liquid but an analyst upgraded it with a 162. price target-sounds ridiculous, but its selling at 5 times sales compared to kinaxis 10 times sales-same business saas.

Q: Hi Team,
Docusign is dropping like a lead balloon after hours on earnings. Please comment on earnings and the outlook for the company going forward, and should a guy sell tomorrow? Or buy into the weakness? Or just hold? Thanks
Shane.

Q: I guess that a company’s name becoming a verb just isn’t what it’s cracked up to be. I’m really kicking my wounds on this one.
Q: Am I correct when I look at FM's latest Q, note #8, released Sept 30, 2021 that the company has made no progress reducing their debt? Thankfully I don't own the stock...I much prefer to take a beating on AEM!

Q: What sequence would you add for largest overall return for 2 years and least risk for AND, ANRG, DCBO, LCFS, NBLY, STLC
Q: hello 5i:
At present, we have no preferred shares in our portfolio and I'd like to add some. In a September question directed to you, you said:
"We are very comfortable with the credit of Fortis for income investors. We would rank: I, M, J, H, K, G, F"
Can you explain why the series I is ranked first? I'm looking at both the series I and the series M as there is a fairly large difference in yields. Is there a higher yielding company, utility-like, that provides a yield of 4-5% that would be considered very safe (almost bond-like; obviously looking for yield)
thanks
Paul L

Q: Do you think now is a good time for substantial stock price increase for DOC.CA
Q: Hi there, I've held FFH for a number of years in my unregistered account. I'm down 6%. This morning TD notified me of a corporate action which I don't understand. Can you explain what it means? I'm a growth oriented investor anyway and wonder if I should just sell and move on.( I already own the big 6 banks plus IFC and SLF.)
Thanks,
Andrea

Q: Hi Everyone at 5i! I need your advice. I have a non registered portfolio, half I have invested in Canadian and US growth and income stocks. The other half I would like to invest in something more secure. GICs come to mind, but with low interest rates, inflation and unfavourable taxation, they seem like a loosing proposition. Any low risk suggestions??? Thank you for all that you do!!! Cheers, Tamara
Q: Dear 5i,
I have CCPC and my savings in this corporate account are significant (over 1M). I am comfortable with 80(stocks)/20(bonds) portfolio and my time frame is 20+ years.
My plan was to buy the following etfs:
Canada - VCN.TO (24%)
US - HULC.TO (32%)
Developed Markets - HXDM.TO (16%)
Emerging markets - HXEM.TO (8%)
Bonds - HBB.TO (20%)
Questions:
1) Do you think this geographical asset allocation is adequate?
2) Horizon etfs consist 76% of this portfolio. Do you think this is good idea, or should be limit my exposure to horizon stocks. If yes, what percentage of exposure would you recommend and which etfs I should replace them with?

Q: I would appreciate your comments and comparison of long.ca (doesn’t appear to have a yield) with the longevity pension fund.
Thanks

Q: You have consistenly placed SLFover MFC..Given that MFC is trading low do you still prefer SLF over MFC for today
Q: Today Pizza Pizza (PZA) has announced it has signed a franchise expansion deal into Mexico. I have a preference for Canadian companies paying attractive dividends (for income supplement) that have an international presence. I am considering purchasing Pizza Pizza given the price is low and they are about to enter a market with a huge customer base. I'm assuming there are no other major North American pizza franchises in that market, if not, getting one's foot in the door is a smart move on Pizza Pizza's part. I think people have to still eat and pizza is cheap, delicious and filling so it should do well In Mexico. What is your opinion? Is this a good time to purchase Pizza Pizza stock?
PS I have read your comments about the company and your main point about it was from a 'growth' perspective. Does this new direction now place Pizza Pizza in the 'growth' category? Thanks

Q: Tax question - do you know whether or not CDR's of any of the 18 US equities count toward T1135 declared holdings?
Also if I hold AAPL shares in a separate US account would the core holding there affect its capital gain status if a CDR for AAPL were also to be traded at a different adjusted cost?

Q: I'm looking ahead to January's TFSA contribution. Portfolio analysis indicates that my biggest sector shortfall is in healthcare. My only healthcare exposure is as part of my XAW (18% of my overall portfolio) and VGRO (44%), so I'm looking at AND, CARE, and WELL as candidates for the TFSA. What's your take on whether to put the contribution to one, some or all of these, or something else? Age 72 but my RRIF minimums (plus CPP/OAS) are sufficient for living expenses, don't expect to have to touch TFSA for 6+ years.
Thanks.
Thanks.
