Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Thanks for your precious advise. I experience my best investment years since I enrolled with your service. Retired investor with a long term view (I hope LOL LOL) I currently own the above mentioned stocks and would like to increase marginally my weighting in energy. KEY and TOU have the most weight currently. All can be increased in weight but would rather add to 1 or 2 max. A mix of good dividend and capital appreciation is sought. Where would you go from here? I don't mind adding another company if need be for better diversification if needed. Please rank in terms of preference.

Thanks

Yves

Q: It appears that natural gas is the coming into favor over oil in Western canada. ie power plants in Alta and the lng pipeline to Kitimat. Your thoughts on the stocks that will have upside in this sector. Arx, bir, aav, key, tou, aav, come to mind. Your thoughts

Q: On the supply side, dry gas prices are low and drilling activity has been scaled way back (storage is full to the brim).

On the demand side, the potential for a cold winter on the coasts, increased adoption of EV, conversion of coal to gas, vaccine driven Covid economic recovery, etc.

It looks like there's potential for a pinch in the market on the price of gas. If that was the case (I'd like to hear your thoughts on that), what companies would see the most positive response in share price?

Q: Hello,

I am still sitting on cash... I wish I had more aggressively deployed prior to the election.
q1) I am wondering what would be your favourite names to add new money to or would you recommend waiting for a pull back from the recent highs?

q2) My thoughts was to pick up best in breed nat gas exposure in tourmaline or topaz. Which would you prefer for growth and why? Or is there another name your prefer?

Q: Hi Guys,

I'm starting to get interested in the energy sector for more of a long term hold. The sector has been crushed but I don't believe the world is going to abandon oil and gas any time soon. Looking for a producer that pays a dividend, so I can get a return while I wait. What companies would you guys suggest?

Q: I have both in my RRIF. BIR has moved very well last 2 weeks and I am making small amount of money. Still down with TOU . Should I keep both for time being, have held them for quite a while. I could put the money in another stock, or top up TOU for dividend. With topaz starting maybe TOU would increase DIV sometime in future. Tks for helping in past

Q: Please take as many question credits
you need to fully answer this. I would like growth and reasonably safe stocks. I have losses in all of these; should I sell and take the loss? Hold as they are likely to recover in next 6--12 months? Thanks. Helen
