Q: Hi there. I am building up precious metal related positions in preparation for some tariff chaos the next couple quarters. I have SII, FSM, NGD and SBSW. I am wanting to accumulate more (5%) portfolio weighting and wondering if you can rank these in terms of which ones to add to in order of growth potential and being undervalued?
Thanks in advance! Kevin

Q: I am looking to increase dividend income, while preserving capital. In a US Rif, of the two mentioned, which to own? Jepi seems more stable with a lower Mer but lower yield. Spyi higher Mer but outsized yield.
Both seem to employ complicated strategies to obtain yield; what are the downsides here.

Q: How do you like its future. 10 years forward looking is there a large addressable market for growth & profitability. Could it be a take over target?

Q: I own Labrador Iron Ore Royalty Corporation and am considering adding more to my holdings.
As of June 4, the US raised the tariffs on steel coming into the US from 25% to 50%.
With the US administration's recent rate increase and their pattern of changing tariff rates on a whim, do you see this as a good time to own LIF?
I am looking at an investment horizon of 5+ years. If it is a good time to invest, at what price would a good entry point be? Thank you for your assistance.

Q: Good Afternoon 5i Team,
Alkane Resources (an Australian company) is in the process of taking over Mandalay Resources in an all-stock deal. If you were a shareholder of Mandalay, would you take the Alkane shares or would you sell the Mandalay shares before the deal closes? Also, Alkane has applied for a TSX listing. Is there a risk that their application will be rejected and that Canadian investors will be unable to sell their Alkane shares.
Thanks for your expert opinion.

Q: BTQ Technologies is a small cap Canadian company engaged in the development of computer-based technology related to post-quantum cryptography for applications in blockchain and related technologies. Ir is up 450% since April. I don't see any questions on this company in your Q/A. I would appreciate you comments on the company.
Q: What is your opinion of this company? Thanks
Q: Hello Peter
the TSX has gained around 20% since around Jan this year
I am a retired investor , so worrying about a pull back
I follow your stocks in the income and balance portfolio
in regarding to the stocks in the balance portfolio, can you name 3 to 4 stocks that
are of high valuation that I should be cautious about in case of a market pull back?
thanks

Q: Good morning,
This question relates to the upcoming sale of PKI to Sunoco.
If a person held 1000 shares of PKI and elected to take the cash offer of $44 and was not granted the full cash allotment, and instead received $19.8 per share held and .295 shares of the new Company he would have $19.8k plus 295 shares of the new entity.
Or at least some configuration of shares depending on the choices of other shareholders.
That being said, if one wanted to dispose of these newly issued shares, how does one go about it, and are there any tax ramifications to be aware of when selling American shares?
My cost of PKI shares is approx $38 Can. There may be a small cap gain depending on the value of the SUN shares.
Or should one just bail out before the new shares are issued?
Finally, what is your best guess at the share price of PKI, just prior to the official delisting and the creation of SUN?

Q: Why is FL trading above the takeover price of $24? Is there a good possibility of a higher offer coming or is it the link to the share price and direction of Dick's Sporting Goods stock? Trying to decide if it is best to take the money now.
Thank you
Thank you

Q: CSU has grown too large a position in my portfolio, and I am very reluctantly (sadly even) forcing myself to sell a portion.
Along with some additional free capital, I am considering adding four new positions.
I am indifferent to industry, size or region. This is all about growth.
I am willing to hold for many years, but I want companies that are proven winners and very well-positioned to grow aggressively in the long term. Ideally, companies that are standouts in their industry.
How would you rank the above positions in terms of risk (1-10), short-term growth (1-10) and long-term growth (1-10)?
If you have additional suggestions not on my list that may be more suitable, please include them in your analysis.
Thanks for your outstanding service. I owe the bulk of my financial success to you and your team.
Subtract as many credits as needed.

Q: With the current tariff situation and the direction of Donald Trump unclear to say the least, would you continue to hold, add to holding, or sell? Have a gain in the stock still even with the significant downtrend since early April.

BDI is suddenly up 3%+ on heavy volume on a down market day...your thoughts please! Thanks!

Brookfield Infrastructure Corporation Class A Exchangeable Subordinate Voting Shares (BIPC $53.03)
-
Brookfield Renewable Corporation Class A Subordinate (BEPC $33.86)
-
Brookfield Corporation Class A Limited (BN $65.33)
Q: I have all three of these positions.
I'm happy to keep my capital invested in the Brookfield empire, but it feels inefficient and not thought out the way it sits in my portfolio, almost like a series of afterthoughts.
The breakdown of the three (as a % of their cumulative totals in my portfolio)
BN = 57%
BEPC = 8%
BEP.UN = 35%
(Ignoring the whole tax schmozzle with reg vs NR accounts),
Would you recommend any changes? That could include adding another Brookfield entity as a possibility.

Q: Hello, I saw the announcement by PPL about this solicitation process. Please provide a simple English recap and implications for shareholders. Is this a good time to add to holdings or should I look at TRP instead?
