Q: Hello,

Further to your response regarding inflation and five Canadian and US names that might perform better, do you also have five mid cap or smaller cap names that might benefit from inflation? Both US and CDN?

Thank you!

Q: Hi. I want to buy an ETF for US or International exposure and therefore need to understand the impact of the withholding tax. In doing so, I need to determine the type of ETF they are such as; Canadian equity, Canadian dividend and income, U.S. Equity, International Equity Fund or Can Bon fund. So, wow do I determine what type of fund XAW or QEF fall under such that I can understand the withholding tax implications. Looking at the website/fact sheets/etc is still difficult to determine the "holdings" which has a direct correlation to the with holding tax.

Q: Hello 5i,
Do you think Metaverse is a better investable theme compared to Crypto?
Facebook seems to be allocating capital to Metaverse.
Can you suggest some stocks in US or Canada that give exposure to this theme. Can you suggest any ETFs other than META that invest in this theme? Do you think this is best held in a TFSA or NonReg account?

thanks

Q: It seems like a lot of analysts are talking about a resource bull market especially regarding the inflation/stagflation discourse.
Do you feel we are heading into a resource bull market?
And, are there certain sectors you favour - Oil/gas, copper, uranium, food, precious metals?
Finally, are there any stocks within this very broad resource sector that you think is a standout. Please take as many credits as necessary
Much appreciated

Q: I need to do some trimming of Lightspeed due to substantial gains since purchase at $20 to $25. I am undecided though as to whether to wait for the quarterly report which I think comes out on Nov.4. I read the estimates in your answer to a recent question, $124 m revenue and loss of $0.18. In your opinion would meeting these estimates provide stability to the stock price. Do you know of any general consensus out there as to whether it will meet, miss or beat estimates. I realize this last question involves some guess work so please feel free to leave it out in your response.
As always many thanks for the great service!

Q: I would like to invest in 2 REITs and am looking for the best potential Total Return. I have been looking at the 4 REITs listed above, but would consider any REIT. What 2 REITs would you suggest at this time? Would you recommend 1 industrial REIT and 1 residential/commercial REIT for diversification? Finally, can you please tell me the percentage of US real estate, if any, in each of the 2 REITs suggested. Thank you!!

Q: Earlier this am you commented on SHOP earnings.

"SHOP reported EPS of 81 cents vs $1.13 expected. Sales were $1.12B vs $1.15B estimates. Gross merchandise value was $41.88B vs $43.43B estimated. It did, as expected, say the commerce market may be impacted by supply chain delays. But it also did say the full year outlook is consistent with prior February assumptions. This is the company's first 'miss' and the stock is down 5% in the pre-market. "

When I saw your comments I had a single malt (just kidding) prepping for a $100+ drop on top of the weakness the stock has had recently.

So at 1015 I mustered up enough courage to look at the stock and to my amazement it was up $80.

I thought i knew something about trading/investing but each day that passes humbles you more and more in this business doesn't it?

Sheldon
