Q: Follow up on a recent question on FCCM and WXM. FCCM has the lower MER. Other differences I see in a simple comparison from my online broker: FCCM is large cap while WXM is mid cap. 5 year returns for WXM is higher, but 3 year, 1 year, and less favor FCCM. Dividend from FCCM is 0.64% paid annually and WXM is 1.26% paid quarterly.

I own WXM in my TFSA (up 55%) along with a selection of stocks from your portfolios. I also own VMO in another account.

How do you view these investment style ETFs (growth, dividend, value, momentum) vs geographic ETFs vs sector ETFs vs others for DIY investors trying to diversify within an account?

Q: A few questions please on Rogers.

Capex:
What direction does 5i see for Capex spending at Rogers over the next say three years? In addition to paying for the remaining 25% of MLSE, will upgrading their cable segment (or some other business need) require large investment and limit debt reduction?

Monetizing their sports assets:
It all sounds great but .... what risks does 5i see to individual Rogers investors, and how serious does 5i feel those risks are, from the controlling Rogers family negotiating a monetization that benefits only them?

Thank you

Edward

Q: Good morning,

SE's downward trend continues and I'm contemplating a sell. I noticed that 5i has not had any questions on it since late October and I'm wondering about your current thoughts. If I choose to replace it, can you give me any three high conviction stock ideas that you feel may have strong momentum or bounce potential from current prices (any sector). Thank you. Brad

Q: I have 26 positions in a combination of your growth and balanced funds and have liquidity to add 3 or 4 new positions or add on's to what I have. Without listing my positions, is it fair to ask you for your 'fav' 5 or 6 undervalued equities that I could add while there is tax loss selling?
Grazi,

Q: Hi, I am currently underweight in my portfolio for each of the Healthcare, Industrial and Consumers Cyclical sectors. Can you please recommend a few ETFs in these sectors, preferably global and priced in CAD? Thanks!

Q: Hi Peter and Team,

This is the first question for this Middlefield ETF. I realize that its MER is quite high, but its performance appears to be above its peers. I am also impressed with its 5.085% distribution yield and its very low Beta of 0.34.

Portfolio Analytics indicates that we’re too low in the Healthcare sector as well as US holdings. This ETF could reduce the imbalance.

What is your opinion on MHCD at this time? Are there other ETFs in this sector that you find more compelling?

Thanks as always for your valued insight.

Q: Thanks for answering my question regarding Premum/Discount for TCSH canadian money market ETF. In your answer you stated "Indicated Yield" of 2.63%. I looked at the TD web site and could not find this metric. Can you tell me where I can find this important metric as well as help explain what "Indicated Yield" means? TD only provides current yield to maturity on their web site. Many thanks.

Q: Dear Peter et al:

I enjoyed your article , "This December, free up some time by ignoring these investing issues". A timely article. Well written. As a long term subscriber, I know that you live by these "principles" even when we pepper you with questions on target prices! :)

You didn't mention about what would make you "sell"! In other words, what are your exit strategies other than trimming your position sizes in those multi baggers!

I ask this b/c of my experience with Knight therapeutics, Payfare and a few others. Do you look at "opportunity costs" in your portfolio construction?

I value your words of wisdom, always!

Q: I have both VIDY and VIU. How similar are they? Should I keep both for a long term hold? If I kept only one, which should I keep.
Thank you for your excellent advice.
