Q: Both now and when we emerge from Covid 19 online sales are improving... People who in the past who did not use it are now saying " Sure beats going out shopping " . It also appears that China may be a leader in the economic recovery. Which brings me to AMZN and JD.COM .... JD.COM seems like it is trading at the better value and may have more growth.... On the other hand when I leave my apartment today at least two doors in the hallway will have AMZN packages leaning against them ..... Which would 5I's preference between the two be and why ? ..... And 5I's view of JD.COM's prospects would be interesting ?......

Q: When Peter last appeared on BNN Market call, I’m sure he mentioned that in fact stocks that are more expensive to buy outperform stocks that are cheaper. Could I get a clarification and if true, an explanation for that statement. I know some folks may stay away from an Amazon or Shopify simply because the price for one share seems so high. Thanks

Q: This question is about valuations and growth. How do you determine when a valuation is too high? To me it seems extremely hard to me.

I've owed KXS since $80 (thank you btw) and still have most of my position at the current price, but isn't the valuation like 150X earnings and 20x fwd sales or something?

Same with PLTR: my cost base is $22/share, and it seems like it has tremendous growth prospects... but a really high valuation (what is the fwd valuation btw?).

At what point would you sell (KXS and PLTR for example) just on valuation alone even with amazing growth?

Sorry if this is poorly worded... but I think you get the idea of what i am trying to say.

Q: Which companies (CAN/ US) and/or ETFs would you recommend to buy today for the best exposure to AI? This would be for an 80 year old investor who wants to allocate 8% of his portfolio to AI.
Thank you for your guidance.

Q: Hello team, Shortly I will have $100K CDN and $100K U,S, to deploy for a long term hold ( 10+ years).
Could you recommend a few high quality, value & growth stocks? And what % would you buy now? I am not trying to time the market, but are you anticipating a correction during tax loss? Also, how many stocks (CDN & U.S) would you suggest?
Thanks
Carlo

Q: In your reply to Dan regarding Amazon and high valuations you mentioned being cautious on companies with “commodity like” businesses receiving high valuations.
Could you give a couple of examples with a couple of explanatory comments so members will have a guideline on these things and know what to watch for.
Thank You for your great service

Q: I have been investing for a long time, and have always looked carefully at the p/e ratios and other valuation metrics of stocks that I have bought. I've always felt that the valuation of a stock matters. I read 20 or 30 years ago that the ultimate value any stock holds is the long term ability to generate profits and return these to shareholders in the form of dividends. Lately, it seems that a lot of that is being ignored. There are so many well owned, highly regarded stocks that aren't even profitable on a GAAP basis, and p/e ratios are non-existent in many cases because the company is losing money. I like growth stocks, but it just seems to me that there needs to be some kind of reasonable valuation factored in as well. Many of these high flying tech stocks are now trading at multiples of sales instead of non-existent earnings, and many of those at 20, 30 or more times sales. I know that you like a lot of these, so no need to specify any particular stock. I can see that these companies are growing revenues rapidly, but it can't be as simple as that can it? The revenue is going up 40% or 50% or more a year, and it's a good business, without a ton of debt, so it's a buy? Isn't there some kind of limit? Not trying to be critical - I own some of these high priced tech stocks myself. Some of them, I just can't get my head around what looks like astronomical valuations. Thank you for any comments or insight.
