Q: I was just wondering if you could clarify what the 'blackout' rules are for company insiders prior to an earnings report. I have seen this pattern before when a company reports decent earnings, the stock gaps up but sells off on heavy volume. To me, that suggests that some holders were waiting to 'sell the news' on a day that would have heavy volume/liquidity. In your experience, could that be company insiders finally able to sell their stock because they are not allowed to do it prior to earnings? CLS this week is a good example, because usually it is a very low volume trader. Thanks!

Can you explain why Byd is down .73%?
Would you be a buyer today of Byd for a 5 year hold?

Q: Dear 5i,
If one were to hold VFV and VSP for an infinite period of time and assume MER's were the same and effects of currency were neutral.
Is it reasonable to assume VFV would outperform VSP by approximately 1% because of hedging costs? If not, can you help explain.

Q: I have a less than 1% position in VEEV and am down about 20%. I have been watching MDT and am thinking of punting VEEV and putting 2-3% into MDT. MDT is way off highs due at least in part to surgery delays. Appreciate your thoughts on both.
