Q: In your answer to a recent question from Tim about how to prepare for an inevitable market correction, you suggested holding stocks in defensive areas of Consumer Staples, Utilities, and Healthcare, Can you pls provide 5-6 names in each of those areas that you would want to hold. A mix of Cdn and US would be great. Thank you for your excellent service.

Q: I am looking for companies generating >20% over 1, 3, 6 month and 1, 3, 5 and10 years with steady growth and reasonable volatility. IAG meets my criteria and has eaten IFC's lunch over the above noted reporting periods. Would you endorse IAG and can you suggest other Canadian stocks meeting the same criteria. Thank you

Q: Hello....I am looking for ideally 1 or could be in combination with a second ETF. I would like to achieve a balanced mix with say 60% with a small or 0% of US stock market and about 10% private assets and 30% fixed income. Could you suggest 1/2 ETFs that would achieve something close to this percentage breakdown. Thank you.

Q: Hello Team,

I'm about 5-6 years away from retirement and have starting to move some of my growth portfolio into dividend paying stocks. Currently I have 25 different holdings in my account (mostly your growth portfolio mixed with a few of your favourite US names). I have 11% of my portfolio in 3 dividend stocks, T, CJ and BEP.un. Would you be okay holding these 3 or do you suggest having more (or less) individual stock holdings for dividends. My goal is to average at least 6% yield. Thoughts?

Q: I had CELH on my watchlist 'forever' but its share price kept bolting away from me and I thought of giving up the chase. But I see the company has a consensus ‘strong buy’ . CFRA now rates it a hold , up from sell. Bespoke Investments added it today to its model “Growth Basket” . I add this information knowing you would not allow it to prejudice your thinking.

CELH looks overpriced to me. At best, risk-reward looks balanced. I am hesitant to buy (I am VERY shy , you know). Nevertheless, I am back to reviewing the business again. I would value your insight and your opinion, with substance please. What do you think of the prospects for appreciation in value of the shares.

Q: Hello 5i,

We are 30% under water in CROX. It is held in an RRSP, Would you hold, or sell and purchase a stock with a better outlook?

What would be your 5 highest conviction US stocks at this time? Sector is not important as we will select one or two of those stocks and add funds.

Thank you for your help.

Q: Good evening,

With the understanding that the above equities are to be considered high risk and somewhat speculative, in what order would you buy these (please exclude any names that you would not consider buyable)?

Are any of them particularly compelling at this time?

I already own a fair bit of IBIT and ETHA, as well as COIN, HOOD, GALAXY. but looking to add a little spice to the portfolio.

Thank you,

Q: Retired, dividend-income investor with a well diversified portfolio (in my opinion anyway). My proxy for the technology sector is XIT and it has performed very well over the long time period I have held it. I like using your charting ability to compare XIT to QQQ or other related tech companies or ETFs....great feature!

Question #1 = With all of the "AI" interest right now, I wonder how much exposure does XIT have to the AI theme? Which of the embedded companies within XIT have AI exposure?

Question # 2 = Is there is an ETF that focuses on AI-related companies or is there an ETF that focuses on AI-generated stock picks (in any sector) and what your thoughts are?

Thanks....Steve

Q: What's the main thesis surrounding GRID and what drives it's growth? I know it's related to the electrical grid so it must be around the increased investment needed to improve reliability of the grid and to increase grid capacity for increased electrification but maybe I'm missing something.

Who would be its main competition and what is considered a good entry price?

Q: What do you think of AMD after the announcement of the new Nvidia/Intel partnership? If I understand correctly, it could it affect both AMD’s data center revenue and gaming revenue. My son, who is a gamer, still thinks AMD will do well in the gaming area. But with the US federal government taking a stake in Intel and now the partnership with Nvidia, it seems like AMD is being ganged up on on! Would you continue to hold or sell? Thanks.

Q: I just received an inheritance of $350,000. I would like to invest it relatively risk free for a period of up to 12 months. I do not want to invest in the stock market (yet), as it is not yet clear what will be done with it.
