Q: The existing investments for my other grandson are shown above. Please rank his investments for long term growth. Best wishes for the Holiday Season.

Q: Retired, dividend-income investor. Sitting on roughly 5-6% cash for topping up existing positions to, over time, hit Asset Allocation targets.

Candidates = BCE, GSY, HHL, HMAX, XST, ZUT. If I was deciding to deploy funds to create the largest total return over the next year or two, from their existing valuation, a) in what order would you deploy the funds and b) a short qualifier for each position?

My view = buy in this order:
ZUT = good momentum, room to run before hitting earlier peak
GSY = good value, $150-155 should be excellent value
XST = graph against 50 and 200mda...very tight chart....could buy anytime
HMAX = good value, banks should run
HHL = healthcare stocks should get over their fear of their new boss in a few months....or not. Give it some time.
BCE = last on the list. Just rebought after cap loss capture. Give it even more time.

Q: Something in the conferance call that turned the price around this morning?

Q: We’re overweight oil and gas at the present time with the idea of selling down our positions as we enter the typical positive seasonality for this sector from about now to maybe April. This leads to 2 questions. Do you agree oil and gas look good over the next few months? If this were your money what timeline would you follow to sell off an overweight position in this sector. We’re growth investors with said stocks inside our TFSAs, have positive gains and would like to maximize our gains without trying to be too clever on market timing. Thanks so much!

Q: I own a long term holding in these stocks but am interested in adding a short term trading position in a few of them to take advantage of any January post tax loss selling bounce. Please rank these from best to worst near term (1-2 month) trading potential.

Q: Just a bit of math Gear is trading at .48 cents possibly due to Tax loss....does it make sense to buy it and hold it for a few months and receive .60 cents ????
that would be a 25% gain

Q1. With this year's high performance of US Large Cap ETFs such as VFV, would switching a portion of VFV into a best in class US Mid Cap ETF make sense at this point in time?

Q2. if so, I'm considering ZMID and XMC as potential candidates. Which of these two US Mid Cap ETFs would you recommend switching into and is there another US Mid Cap that you would consider preferable as the best in class?

Q: Global X total return funds have been your recommendation for taxable accounts for quite a while. However, recently, I have observed an alarming trend with the largest of their ETFs, such as HXS, HXT, and HSAV: the premiums have been shrinking significantly, and HXS now trades below NAV. I have more than half of my investments in these three funds, so I am really concerned about this situation. Do you have any explanation as to why the premiums on total return funds have been shrinking and even turned into discounts?

I thought with new administration, US banks would continue surging.. Any reason why jp morgan is not moving higher and would it still be a good long term buy? Q: Why do you think LHX had been weak lately? Is it related to the macro of Trump being less focused on war and the anticipation that there will be less war in the next 4 years? Or more company specific?

Q: I bought into MXG for the special dividend last month, but I am reluctant to sell it because it is in a sector I favor. High insider ownership and very few followers. The earnings look good and they are net cash. They don't state future growth plans or any real mission statement. Has 5i Research looked into this company?

Premium Brands is almost $20 below where it has traded not too long ago. Is there light in the tunnel in 2025? Are there any positive signs that earnings and momentum might move this stock much higher in 2025 or is much more patience required?

Q: I know nothing about bitcoin but I understand that MSTR stock holds a lot of bitcoin. Why is the stock performance of MSTR so much better than IBIT bitcoin ETF. Shouldn't they be reasonably close and correlated? What is MSTR's fundamental business and how do they make money?

Q: In a recent question you stated "Alternatively to VFV, we also like ZSP, which focuses on the S&P 500, and it has some tax benefits given that it holds the US stocks directly." Could you elaborate on the tax benefits? Thanks for your help.

Q: Hell 5i I am considering selling BMO shares holdings and RY holdings as they in their higher price range. Sell high buy low! My plan is to reap the profit to buy ZEB. I would appreciate your thoughts on this. Thank you
