Q: Hi 5i,

Could you provide a short comparison of these 3 companies, how they overlap and differ?

If one has investments in SHOP and SQ would they "supersede" Lightspeed, or could they compliment? When does Lighspeed start trading?

From my preliminary research Lightspeed appears to be a combination of both SQ and SHOP where they provide POS payment systems with the ability to create a webstore (but seem more focused on brick and mortar vs. Shopify being more online)

Thank you!

Q: I've done very well with SHOP (thanks to 5i) but it has grown to 12% of my overall portfolio. I really like to let the winners run, and am quite risk tolerant, however I am considering selling 20% and reinvesting the proceeds. I plan to top up KXS, which seems has good momentum, but need some other suggestions. What other technology stocks would you suggest at this time? Options outside of tech would be appreciated too.

Q: Hi Guys, Peter is on BNN as I type, I have owned SHOP since the 60's and from time to time write a covered call, can you please explain the best way to defend against the call when it gets threatened, my current position is the March 15th 245$ call, at the time of the call I received a credit of 5$, I do want to keep my shares, gotta run Peter back on.

Thanks
Anthony

Q: I was just about to buy CSU when I noticed a good report and it shot up 12%! Is it too late? I'm looking for two long term holds, minimal volatility, for a 2.5 % position each. What two do you like and why?

Q: Most equity investments I make are made with a long term view (buy and hold). My recent readings of investment material have concluded in many cases that one of the best indicators of long term successful and rewarding investing is to invest in excellent company management. I would consider some examples of excellent management would be JNJ and closer to home BAM. Both of which I currently own.

Given the great many risks (domestically and internationally) currently threatening even a conservative approach to investing. I am looking to identify up to 10 large companies that have clearly demonstrated excellent consistent management capability. Your consideration in helping me with this by identifying some qualifying companies would be most appreciated. My thought is that at least 5 out of 10 would be Canadian and would be large companies.

Thank you

Q: Hi team,
I did a fast calculation and my tech weighting is at 31%, broad etf's at 29% and the crumbs that are left over in energy, consumer dis. industrial, communication and health.
From the tech sector my highest weighing is SHOP at 5.04% all the way down to PHO at 1.88%

Although CYBR.B is an etf, I lump it in the tech sector. If you had to remove one or two to lessen the weighting which stock would you sell. I really like all those stocks but I am also aware need to up the other sectors.

Thank you

Q: I have noticed recently that Aapl, Amzn, Brk, Googl and V that the daily share volume has been about 70 % of the 10 day volume and Shop and Sq have been at or higher than the 10 day volume ( the stocks mentioned are some companies in my portfolio). To me this means that the rise in share price does not have wide support and could fall soon.
Appreciate your comments on the support of the rally and are people hiding money in short term instruments until they can verify one way or the other the next direction of the market.

Q: Hi 5i! I'm a middle-aged subscriber that has picked up some of the 5i researched companies - most recently Kinaxis and BNS. I'm slightly overweight Kinaxis and Shopify since I see them as potential growth engines. KXS, TOY, NVDA, SHOP, FB, and BNS are all in my non-reg account. If I need cash this year for personal projects, which companies might you recommend I start selling? Thanks!

Q: All the above is what I have in portfolio with equal weightings. I purchased all stocks 1 year ago. I am down on all except for SHOP and BYD. TOY is Down the most. Do you recommend to sell any of these stocks? What new stock would you recommend to add to a tfsa for growth?
Please deduct credit as you feel appropriate.
Thank you.

Q: My daughter TFSA contains the above stocks. She can add 1 (full position) or 2 (half position) this year. What would be a good fit for her present holdings? Would you suggest selling Stella Jones &/or Telus and replacing it with something else? She has a long time frame as she will not need the money in the foreseeable future.

Q: I hold SHOP in diff accts; one is listed on Cdn exchange, other on US exchange. I notice today that the Cdn listing SHOP is up $14.27/share, the US listing is down $1.22/share. The difference is not the currency. Does this possibly illustrate the negativity of US investors, or what is/are the probable reason(s) for such a spread? Usually the diff is small once the currency is factored in.
