Q: It seems to me that the 30% drop in Detour Gold is way overdone. Do you agree? DGC has quite a high percentage of shares owned by institutions (>60% I believe). Could this big drop be due to computer programmed selling - sheep following sheep, etc.? I bought a small position in DGC several months ago, thinking it's a high cost producer but has a lot of reserves, so it could be a good leveraged investment if the POG rises significantly. Has anything really changed with this new guidance?
Q: How would you rank these three stocks? Would you purchase at their current price? What upside would you estimate they would have in the next year?
Q: If one believes that the move to a hydrogen economy is inevitable where should they be investing? My sense is that Shell is one of the better plays from a supplier perspective (c/w 5% dividend on the ADR) and maybe Toyota from a transportation perspective. However, neither offers a particularly inspiring 5 year chart. Do you have any better suggestions (possibly Canadian, though I am looking for a relatively secure name rather than a small start-up)?

Q: I am thinking of adding these for income and noticed that none are listed in your Income Portfolio. How would rate these with respect to debt level, safety of dividend, P/E, potential growth, other metrics and management team? This is a long term hold and I can stand a fair bit of volitility.
Thanks for your excellent advice.

Q: Curious about your thoughts on LTE? - potential in the UK seems good and a pretty full management turnover also underway.
Q: With Tencent back around $50 do you see this as an opportunity to add to a reasonable position?
Q: I do not understand what is happening with West Fraser Timber. They released favorable first quarter results on Wednesday, touched $95.10 early yesterday and since then have dropped nearly $10 (at $86.51 as I write this). I find no explanation for this drop on my brokerage website or in any news headlines. This seems like a lot more than profit-taking. What are your thoughts? I considered this a core long-term holding.
Q: WFT has been getting pounded since it reported. Was it that bad? Should I switch to Canfor? Or would Canfor have suffered them same weather issues as West Fraser?

Q: Morning,
Is the yield an eligible div? Also, I have MFT in my RRSP account and wondering if having it in TFSA would be any different for withholding tax etc?

Q: I am largely an extremely long term buy and hold investor. With respect to tech stocks over the next three decades I see the usual suspects alphabet, amazon, facebook and apple as fairly certain bets over that time frame notwithstanding potential government intervention causing breakups. That said, what other US tech companies would you feel have similar potential staying power for the extremely long term aside from Cognex ? Which 4-5 others would you select ?

Q: Hi, 5i!
We have 10% of our portfolio in CPD... What do you think of selling half of this position, 5% of the portfolio, and replacing it with ENB (Enbridge), say, and/or another "hard to ignore" etf (recently Ryan, in an Etf & Mutual Fund article, identified 3 "hard to ignore"opportunities: CPD, VOX and ZUT)? Please note: we hold the Balanced Equity portfolio, so already have 2% of the Canadian part of our portfolio in ENB.
Thanks!
