Q: Could you please elaborate on your response to Tim today where you stated “ the odds of a recession we think are actually diminishing now.”
I have concerns on China’s messy economic future as a headwind. Thanks for your thoughts.

Q: I have had the impression rightly or wrongly that you aren’t buying into the current narrative that interest rates might stay higher for longer? Just supposing they do stay elevated for some time, are there any companies in your universe that you may have been previously positive on whose debt levels might give you pause under the higher for longer scenario? I’ll use EIF just as an example. Is it something you could run a screen on just to highlight some companies that you think could bear a closer watch under such a scenario? It always seems to me that when a company has an issue (Nuvei being a recent example), it’s always a suddenly too high debt ratio that ultimately takes them down (or at least keeps them from recovering). Appreciate your thoughts as always.

Q: I identified 9 companies that out performed the TSX 60 plus 3 energy companies that I believe have a bright future. All 12 failed the MACD. 5 are trading at double digit discounts to their 52 week highs; dsg, shop,l,tou and cve. P/E range from 85 to 6 etc, etc. Please pick your diversified top 6 for a 5 year hold, with consistent profitability, no crazy volatility and suggest a great entry price. Thank you

Q: I'm in my mid seventies and retired. My pension income covers my monthly needs and I do have excess capital to invest. Dividend income is always welcome but I also would appreciate some growth in my portfolio. I realize you lean towards companies that have strong growth profiles and often find great investments in that arena. My questions are two fold.
1. Based on my limited explanation of my personal investment profile, could you list some of the companies you favour that could be, 'just too risky" for me to invest in?
2. Alternatively, could you list some of your favourite companies that I should consider investing in?

Q: Oh gosh, Keith Richards for the last 2 months in the Money Saver is raising red flags about the market.....comparing where the market is now to pass markets that have plunged downwards, like big time. And there is news out of China, the yuan falling and economy slowing down, like big time, too This makes me wonder, seriously about doing this --- should I sell all or most of the stocks held in the TFSA and LIRA accounts as there would be no tax to pay.....but hold on the those in the trade accounts What are 5iR's take of the stock market going forward and my pondering about selling??? .........Thanks for your insights.........Tom

Q: As a follow up to my question on Target. What would be a replacement for it? I am a dividend investor with some growth stocks. I aleady have NWC, PEP, PBH and PG. Should I just add to NWC as it is low right now with the 4% dividend, add equally to these or is there a particualr peference of another such as KO?

Q: Public storage and cell tower stocks are down significantly this year. Were they simply over-valued previously? Assuming interest rates will stabilize, do you feel that they may offer above average returns going forward? Your favourites listed on US and Canadian exchanges?

Q: Please sort the list if you were assigned a task of bottom fishing.
Firstly sort them (best to worst) in terms of growth perspective for next 3-5 years.
Secondly sort them from fundamentals/safety perspectives.
Ignore diversification.
Also feel free to add your own favorite bottomed pick.

Q: Trying to reduce my number of stock holdings. Have identified these 11 as small positions that can be eliminated. Intending to use the cash to add to stronger holdings. I try not to think of a stock as a "hold". There are lots of high quality names you can invest in that look better than a "hold". If you were doing a portfolio clean up, and held these as roughly 1% positions, are there any that you would be reluctant to sell?

Q: Good day,

I did some rebalancing based on your response to my Feb question. I bought GOOG which paid off, GXE which sort of didn't (yet), and held the rest, and definitely should have listened on LLY and TFII... Wow.

My NVDA took off, and I believe ZWT mostly gained from it and the mega caps as well. NWH.un continues to wallow.

I'm looking to diversify, as I'm heavily concentrated in tech and Energy. Are there any materials that you expect to have a high demand on the horizon? Similar to Uranium/Lithium

Would you take some NVDA gains, and sell ZWT (I hold AMZN, GOOG, NVDA, TSLA separately), Sell NWH, in the current market, and then where in the above sections would would distribute it? Did I miss the boat on TFII and LLY?

I've also held BNS on and off the last 5 years, would you exit that in the current interest market?

Please recommend a couple options in each of a few sectors that you find most compelling right now, thanks.

[Apologies for the disjointed question, the text box on mobile is pretty small]

Q: Hi Team,
Which of these names do you see doing best from current levels 5 yrs from now? Sq, LMN, WELL, or SHOP. I am currently holding a few shares of sq and am considering selling out for a 18% loss and putting the funds to one of the other names mentioned. Whats your thoughts ? Or should I just continue to wait for a recovery in Sq? Or if you have any other “must buy” names today that are better than all the ones mentioned I would like to hear those ideas too. The holding is inside a tfsa. Thanks for your advice !

Shane
