Q: Hi Team,
I would like your opinion on FMC. The stock is down significantly because one of the key product family is seeing patents expiry-diamides. It probably also moved lower with the rest of the agrobusiness sector-. Do you think it is a good time to take a small position in FMC. I am looking to a 3 to 5 years horizon.
I would also take position in one of the 3 other Cie listed -LIN, CTAS, KBL- due to the fact that I think these are 3 companies that could be fairly resilient in an economic downturn. How would you rank these choices in term of stability and capital appreciation potential ? Other suggestions are welcome!
Take the amount of credit necessary to answer my questions and sub questions!
Thank you,
Michel

Q: My son is getting married this year and he and his fiance are planning to purchase a home in the next 2-3 years. He has opened an FHSA acct and invested these funds in a GIC. He also has cash in his RRSP and TFSA accounts that are held at TD Waterhouse Webroker which he wants to use for a down payment on the home as well when the time comes. Could you please give me your top 3 income/savings vehicles and your top 3 dividend stocks (understanding these are riskier) you would recommend he purchase through his TD Waterhouse account in this scenerio.

3. Sell TD (non-registered account, tax loss) and buy BNS?
4. Sell ATZ and or DOO (both in a TFSA) and buy what?

Thank you again for the fantastic service and Happy New Year to everyone at 5i

Q: Understand that crypto is outside of your coverage universe, I am curious to hear your thoughts on Bitcoin as an investment.
How viable is it?
Do you see it appreciating in value over the next 5 years, and if so, would you expect above market returns?
Lastly, for an agressive investor (with the clear and unequivocal understanding that huge losses can be Incurred), what would seem like a reasonable portfolio allocation, in terms of percentage, to BTC? I was thinking 10%.
Thank you.

Q: On October 26 you indicated “ The stock has fallen the most in 16 years. We think, at 8X earnings, it can be kept and we would caution against a quick reaction in a downturn that has already happened. But we think it can be 'targetted' for elimination as the stock settles in. It was almost taken over a while back (the deal was blocked) so there is always that possibility. But it is hard to endorse on that alone. “
Have your views about this stock changed or you still think that it may be considered for elimination. I am almost breaking even (small loss).
Thank you

Q: Hello Team,
at the current prices, it seems to me that they are good entry point for both of these companies.
What is your opinion?
Telus yields a 6.3$ dividend at the current price and this is long term "income" investment.
I am also interested of your opinion on EFX following the steep drop in the stock price recently and also considering this week's announcement that they were able to dispose of Exterran Offshore at, what seems, a favorable price considering the expectations.
Thank you and I wish you and your families a very good year in 2024!

Q: I own these three stocks for consumer defensive:
L - half position
PBH - full position
Costco - half position
The analytics tool is telling me I'm low on consumer defensive. Would you just add to L and Cost or would you add another name?
Thanks,
Robert
