Q: As you are well aware, Bitcoin has been taking off all over the world. When I watch interviews of people at conventions, it appears most are investing to protect against inflation and to counter the demise of the US dollar in the future. What are you're opinions on this? I realize it has been very volatile and risky, so do have any recommendations on technology linked to Bitcoin, but so far hasn't taken off?

thanks,

Paul

Q: Good afternoon,

I know there has been much angst here with Telus. And your responses in recent months have been very well thought out and helpful (rates; competitive/regulatory environment). I have a 2% weight in BCE, 1% weight in T. So not massive by any means. But the slow steady drip downwards in price is getting frustrating, and now seeing the price today lower than where it was in the depths of COVID in March 2020 is concerning. At what point do I just take the 1% in T and add to BCE?

Q: Have been considering a purchase of Intact Financial for exposure to insurance sector. But already own BRK.B , which I tend to think of in terms of its portfolio of holdings , but has at its core their insurance business .
Different animals , I guess , but how would you think about this ?
All other considerations aside , would you add to BRK.B or initiate a position in IFC ?

Q: I recently read an interview with Jensen Huang from back in 2017 where he went on record stating that AI will eat the software industry. It's a bold statement, but it appears many are expecting this thesis to play out. So my question is 2 fold.... do you see the larger upside within Tech on the chips side (picks and shovels) vs software going forward? And, is the acquisition and vertical software integration model with CSU the safer play within the software industry and more immune to declining margins like we recently saw with large enterprise software companies like CRM. Thank you!

Q: My TFSA is comprised of EIF (up), WELL ( down) and LMN ( up ) in equal amounts and is 4 % of my total ( cash and RRIF ) portfolios. I am not afraid of risk in my TFSA. I am looking at replacing EIF with HTA with the eventual goal of having HTA as my sole RRIF holding. I hold HTA
(5%) and EIF (2%) in my other portfolios. I like HTA for the combination of tech with high income. EIF has been good to me over the years but has been in decline for quite some time. Has something fundamental changed with this company ? HTA would be my only tech holding amongst my portfolios being almost 10% of value. Does this approach make sense?
Thanks. Derek

Q: I was watching an interview with David Rosenberg and Ed Devland. They were stating that the Canadian interest rates are going to have to be cut several times due to economic conditions. Can you recommend investment strategies to benefit from this . For example bonds going up in value because of the inverse relationship of interest rates and bond values. What bond etf's ect. Can you give US recommendations also, as it sounds like the Us will be later than Canada.

Thanks
