Q: The Canadian Investor Podcast gave CNR a right pasting for the capital allocation, specifically blaming them for borrowing money to purchase buybacks.
Can you speak to the management of each company? Which is the better long-term hold?

Q: CN Rail shares were added to the Income Portfolio, Today.
If you decide to add exposure to rails in the Balanced Portfolio, which Canadian rail would be your preference today and why ?
You had mentioned before that CNR has a cheaper valuation and good dividend yield. But, I would appreciate your reasoning to cover other factors like future growth prospects, geographical considerations and total shareholder returns, as well.
Thank You

I appreciate you can’t give personally advise, but curious in this case where you would head. Thanks and all the best in holidays.
Q: Hi,
CNR seems to be going thru a rough patch this year with further reorg ongoing.
What are your thoughts on it versus CP? I am considering switching my CNR position to CP. Thank you.

Q: Good morning, could you please identify 8 "safer" companies you see at or close to the bottom of their trough at this time that have a dividend (% of dividend does not matter)? For example my guess would be CNR which was at $178 in March 2024 and now at $135 with a yield of 2.63% at this price.
Thx,

I want her to see the benefits of investing and feel the pressure so don't want to make any huge mistakes. Thanks for your great advice!!

Q: I intend to sell my CNR shares next week for the tax loss after Sept 8th when the dividend is paid. What would you suggest holding as a proxy for the next month? Is CP the best choice despite it's very small dividend or could you suggest several other Canadian companies? Thank you.
