Q: With the RBI restricting the issuance of new cards in India, would this be a catalyst to trim ones position or switch to Visa?

Q: Hi,
My question is of the companies I've listed, which 2 or 3 would you add to for a 5-10 year horizon. I currently own all of these, with no total value exceeding $500.
I am just starting a small portfolio and have $1000 USD to put into my RRSP to add to these exisiting stocks.
How would you rank them?
Thanks!

I'd like to mention that this question function is a tremendous feature. Thanks for the excellent and speedy answers to my previous questions. I feel very supported.

Q: Hello. I am a new subscriber and this is my first question. I have been "practicing" self directed investing for the past year with about 20% of my registered assets. I think I have a pretty good grip on the basics and am now ready to move ahead and invest the balance of my assets into the market. I am going to use your portfolio construction recommendations as a guideline. According to the plan, I am already heavy in # of stocks and lack solid allocation and diversification. The stocks I listed are the ones that are dragging down the portfolio and for the most part do not belong in the mix. If I sell now all the losses seem to be quite significant representing approx. 3.5% of my current portfolio of stocks and about 1.3% of my total available assets. I have the option of holding on hoping for recovery and using other cash to strengthen my good positions and add to more diversified positions. Or should I simply sell and move on with a clean slate to re-build the portfolio?
Q: Why Mastercard is dropping after their earnings ?

Where should I focus if I would like to ensure a diverse portfolio?
Are there any stocks that I should dump?

Q: In my US account, I hold Berkshire, Disney and MasterCard. I was thinking of selling one of these to free up some USD to purchase CRWD for more growth. Which one would you suggest selling if you were in this position?
Or, if it were possible, would you suggest converting some CAD to USD to purchase CRWD, and keep the US stocks that I have already?
Thanks
Robert

Q: I hold both these companies.
Mastercard has been pretty flat for the last 12 months. Do you see things picking up significantly for them when people start booking tickets for flights, hotels, concerts and Disney Land or will papal process more of these payments as well. PayPal has grown to a size in my portfolio that I wouldn't want to add to it. I know Mastercard isn't a "weed" but can't decide if it's a "flower" that could use some water ;)
Would you add to Mastercard (or maybe start a position in Visa) today or look for something else? (In the payments space I also have a full position in SQ)
....PayPal passed Mastercard in market cap today. (mind blown emoji)
Cheers

Q: Could you please rank these financial stocks? Is there another one you would throw in there that may be better? Thanks
Q: I had recently saw a comment on Seeking Alpha that Visa was a good holding during a period of runaway inflation. Regardless of whether or not you see inflation reaching that level., would you agree that V as a good holding in that environment? Would you include any others (Canadian or US) ?
Q: Hi,

Q: I have difficulty determining certain financial metrics* for FISV. This is perhaps due to the closing by FISV of its acquisition of First Data in 2019 and the consolidation of statements . (FISV’s acquisition in December of ONDOT would not be a factor).
Data I have access to show a very low ROE, and a sky-high PEG.
1.*Would you have something more current on your systems for forward P/E , PEG, and projected ROE?
2. I had assumed FISV’s management was generally fine, but I see now that other FinTech and payment processor companies have done much better over the preceding ten years. Do you think FISV may have swallowed more than it can digest in terms of both debt, and in its ability to effectively merge operations?
3. If you had small positions in MA and FISV, to which one, if any, would you add? (perhaps not comparable) .
( Trading on Thursday 14Jan: MA dropped 5.6%, Visa -3.6%v, PYPL -1.11% , FISV -2% but SQ up 0.8%, and DFS up 1.5%. Struck me as puzzling or is this normal? )

Q: Mastercard was down 5.58% today and Visa was down 3.32%. The DJ and Nasdaq were flat on the day. Can you explain the large decline. Thx
