Q: Today's or recent news show that Alaris is pursuing a corporate reorganization to convert from a corporation to a publicly-traded income trust.
Can you share your opinion on how this will affect investor? What are the pros and cons and what material impact we could see going forward?

Q: plus 5 % dividend ok debt,,,,,,, what stocks looks puzzling to you why its still far down a stock with value and when the virus goes away from everyday attention that should have good upside .

Q: Looking for 2 stock recommendations for each of my children's RESP account. I tend to prefer companies paying a dividend. Child 1 is 15 years old, needing the funds in 3 to 4 years so picks would need to be conservative. Child 2 is 11 years old, needing the funds in 7 to 8 years.

Q: WHAT ARE YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS ON THESE SECURITIES. I HAVE HELD THEM FOR A FEW YEARS AND HAVE BEEN SATISFIED WIT THEIR PERFORMANCE BUT I AM THINKING OF SELLING AND MOVING ON TO OTHERS.

Q: Hello 5i Team
Westshore Terminals announced Great Pacific Financial Services Ltd. (Jimmy Pattison ) has purchased 1,035,656 shares on the open market on June 19. The news release stated GPFSL increased its shareholding of WTE from approximately 3 % to 4 %.
According to the Management Information Circular dated May 8, 2020, Jimmy Pattison has control over approximately 34.99 % of WTE, which after reviewing SEDI is comprised of several holding companies (Great Pacific Capital Corp.; Great Pacific Capital Investments Inc.; and Great Pacific Financial Services Ltd.). This equates to holdings of 16.0 %, 16.0 % and 3.0 % for the three holding companies. GPFLS has now increased its total holdings from 3.0 % to 4.61 % with the overall holdings of Jimmy Pattison controlled companies to 36.58 % of WTE.
Questions are:
1 - Is there a limit to how many shares of WTE Jimmy Pattison can purchase using different corporate entities before he has to offer a buyout to minority shareholders? Or can he continue with purchasing shares in this manner until he achieves control (i.e. greater than 50.0 %)?
2 - Do you think Jimmy Pattison will offer a buyout of WTE similar to Canfor last year?

Q: I have owned a full position in AW since the early 2000's, first in my daughters TFSA and now in my RRSP. I like to tell my daughter that Teen Burgers paid for her university! My Question is, how much value to you feel would be added to the share price when and if the dividend is reinstated? Any thoughts on when that might happen and would it likely be added back at the same level as previously? I am contemplating a switch to QSR but I feel like I might miss a nice pop in AW.

Q: why does it "seem" like the boring old dividend plays like Utilities are under performing so much in last few months? Would have thought dividend plays in Canada would have benefited with "search for yield" scenario despite slowing economy.

Q: So, the Apple saga finally over and quarterhill finally getting paid, albeit not as much as previously thought and no more appeals allowed by Apple! Stock up nicely today, doing a dutch auction. Still own lots of it. Where do you see this in three years time? Looks like the ship is being turned around.

Q: I have $40,000 US to invest for 5 -10 years. With half of that amount I would like to buy about four equity-based ETFs for capital appreciation. Some I have read about include QQQ , BBH, and VGT. Are these good choices? Please add other recommendations.
For the other half, I would like more income based ETFs with a sensible degree of risk, such as VIG. Please add other recommendations.
I am not interested in Canadian based ETFs but International based ETFs would be alright.
I do no previous experience with ETFs.

Q: I raised a fair bit of cash in my RIF as the Covid madness marched on. I think I would like to buy USDollars with probably 1/2 the cash and buy some US dividend paying stocks. I need the income and I’m very concerned that this current government is going to cripple ( if not destroy) our economy..
I’m looking at stocks like Verizon, but what would you suggest?
