Q: Hello,

I sold my shares in Alphabet a few months back (which I now regret!) and have some U.S. cash sitting in my RRSP account. I have purchased SBUX and MSFT but want to add some U.S. holdings. I am near retirement, however have a DB pension plan so I can tolerate average to above average risk. I would appreciate your suggestions.

Thank you!

Q: Currently have full positions in AMZN, SHOP and SE. What is your view of MELI? Would you advise peeling off 10-15% each to invest in MELI at todays market prices? How would you rank for growth over next 3-5 years?

Q: I wish to de-risk our portfolio. These are some of our holdings with high PEs [although that is not always the most appropriate criteria for risk assessment]. Would appreciate your advice as to top 10
(a) most at risk currently and
(b) great companies, even if currently expensive, that you have most conviction longer term.

Q: When do you think we are going to see the market sell off settle down in some of these names? Is this panic selling by retail investors or a more troubling move by smart money out of these names entirely? I'm just finding it hard to imagine that the prospects for these companies changed as dramatically as the share price in recent weeks. Take NVDA for instance. I thought it was everyone's darling a few weeks ago when I bought it over $100 higher. I'm holding but it's hard watching these things fall so dramatically each day without reprieve it seems. Thanks.

Q: I see that ARK invest is selling some of their holdings of SE. I currently own a small portion of SE. Do you see any immediate risk? Is it still a good stock to hold today?
Also I have a little bit of SHOP. How is SE compared to SHOP? Should I keep both or get rid of one of them? or should I even sell my SE/SHOP and get AMZN? Thanks a lot

Q: For the above technology companies there has been a huge pullback even though some have beaten nicely on earnings. Is this a buying opportunity for them or wait and see where the NASDAQ settles out before putting new money in. What is the reason for the pullback. Typical profit taking before Labour Day? Of the above Can you rank which you would put new money into first?

Q: I presently have an investment made 3 months ago in this U.S. based company. I was attracted by the fact that it was acquired by Enbridge and pays a dividend in excess of 6 %.
What do you think of this company as a longer term investment ? After receiving 1 dividend payment and noting a 40 % withholding tax , I was informed by RBC that since the corporate entity is an LLC , it doesn't qualify for the 15 % withholding tax. I was also informed that the status would not change, even if transferred to my RRSP account. Does this seem accurate from what you know ?i.e. that an LLC does not qualify for a 15 % withholding tax and that if it were held within an RRSP , that it would still be subject to a 40 % withholding tax ?

Q: I am a long term holder of Spectra in my US acct. I am pleased with the takeover by Enbridge, especially with the long term dividend growth guidance. Do you know if I will be given a choice of US or Can listed stock? If I receive US stock would I get the dividend tax credit, and if not can I switch to Can stock without triggering a gain? What do you think of Enbridge at today's levels?

Q: Today Enbridge Inc. (ENB) announced they are purchasing Spectra Energy Corp (SE) in an all stock deal.

I own Enbridge in my non-registered account (in order to take advantage of Canadian Dividend Tax Credit) and I own Spectra in my US $ RRSP (in order to minimize taxes on US dividends which are treated like interest income).

I want to participate in both the Canadian and US energy infrastructure (pipeline, midstream processing) market.

My question is what can I replace Spectra Energy in my RRSP with? I own Kinder Morgan (underwater), Oneok (above water) and recently sold off Williams (too much drama) in the RRSP account.

Am I better off to sell Spectra now or wait for the Enbridge merger and then sell off the Enbridge or even keep Enbridge in my RRSP as a US holding. Or do I increase my holding(s) in Kinder Morgan or Oneok?

Thanks for the excellent service.
