iShares Core S&P 500 Index ETF (CAD-Hedged) (XSP $64.73)
-
Fidelity Canadian Balanced Fund Series B (FID282 $28.78)
Q: I am looking to simplify my non-registered investment portfolio for my retirement, which is now only 9 months away. I am looking to protect capital and create income. I am looking at one ETF and one fund as possible landing spots for my capital: XSP. And FID282.
Can you please compare and contrast these two funds for me? Are the different enough to warrant owning both? Is there anything else I should be considering?
Thanks in advance

Dana Incorporated (DAN $16.51)
-
Lightspeed Commerce Inc. Subordinate Voting Shares (LSPD $17.17)
Q: 1. Dana Inc.(DAN) - I'm struggling with this one... seems like a great company, winning awards,etc
- I don't see negative news releases for the most part. Most are positive in nature
- Seems like a bit of a sleeper in the investment community with little attention...
- I would like your opinion on whether a buy more, hold or sell... I am currently in at around $24 and stock is at $15
2. Lightspeed - I know you are constantly bombarded with questions on this one, But my cost base is 95 CDN and 65 US in various accounts
- What price would you be comfortable buying at, in the current environment to average down , catch a falling knife??
- I heard negative news/opinions on CNBC this week with regards to payment related stocks, but I'm thinking contrarian at this point...
- Am I Nuts? or should I hold on ...?
Thanks in advance,
M

Q: There was a massive amount of shares traded yesterday. Can you shed some light on this?
Q: Peter; I thought their numbers were excellent- what am I missing ? Thanks. Rod
Q: With all the supply chain issues, and supply chain management being KXS specialty why was the stock flat in 2021, and down 2022. Supply chain issues persist, KXS does not appear to be capitalizing. Will revenue and share price improve through this year? I know it has been mentioned they have lumpy earnings but the conditions for their products should be very strong.
What am I missing on KXS?
Thank you, Mike

Q: I have done very well with ABBV. Thank you. Is it time to reduce or sell outright now, please?
Q: I can't understand why GSY iat a 52 week LOW. Yes high growth stocks and NASDAQ are going down. GSY has a PE close to 10. It is a value stock not a crazy growth stock. It is making money and yet it is being treated like a .COM stock.
Easy answer would be, the market thinks recession is coming and GSY will not perform well.
Do you have any explanation for GSY being at a 52 week low despite beating all estimates on quarterly results?
Thanks

Q: If an investor were to consolidate partial positions in DSG and KXS, which would be preferred at this time? Thank-you.
Q: What would be the most likely three reasons why the CFO resigned from your instincts and experience and best guess based on the tone of the news release and does this change your opinion on the company for a long term hold? Thanks. June
Q: Hi 5i,
After being unable to receive a rational or timely response from my Investment Advisor(Big Bank) nor a return call from the company(CSU/TOI), I beleve other members have in the past asked this same question regarding the spin off value of TOI from CSU for tax purposes --- is the value of 'TOI' shares received deemed to be a 'taxable dividend' for tax purposes for tax year '2021? If so, should I have not received a 'T5' by now?
Thank you and confused,
Dean

Q: ON Jan 18 of this year I asked you guys what I should do with my CTC money that I had after I sold the stock.
Here's the stocks and their performance since then"
TFII -(13%)
MG- (19%)
WSP - (-4%)
So obviously the 2 top ones have been clobbered in a period of 3 months. I own them, do you still believe these are the best place to be invested given the economic outlook currently or should I sell these names and purchase others?
Thanks
Sheldon

Q: Can you name 5-6 Canadian dividend stocks that you think might be a good spot to ride out higher interest rates for a while? Thank you
Q: Hi, I've been holding on to MAL for a while taking the dividend while waiting for a recovery, but after reading your info on EIF I'm wondering if a switch would be in order. Thank you.
Q: My son is 16 and has $2800 RRSP room. He makes under $10,000 (PT jobs) so won't have any tax rebate if he contributes to an RRSP. He is academic and likely will be in school for another 10 years and then hopefully in the highest tax bracket.
Would you open an RRSP now or wait until he can get a tax refund? If starting, what would you buy for such a small amount? ETF or stock? He will have $1000-$2000/yr room for the next 10 years as well.
