Q: I've held a full position in HAL for just over 3yrs all dividends reinvested, gain of 12%. My original plan was to hold for the longer term, DCA reinvesting any dividends. The annual portfolio turnover 78% is twice the category average for the group as per Morningstar. I'm not sure how you make better returns with that amount of trading.
Can you share your thoughts on portfolio turnover
Offer other options on this type of ETF

Tom

Q: From a dividend growth and overall return perspective, could you please rank the above etfs ? I do not need the income so my preference would go to HXT. Am I getting exposed to a lot more volatility in your opinion ?

Q: "Is there a Canadian équivalent ETF ,or close to it,to this excellent sélection approach and choice of Cies like this US ETF?"
Sorry to repeat the question..
Concerning this recent question,I meant : a CDN ETF composed of Canadian stocks only, since the selection method of US stocks for SCHD is excellent,I wonder if there is a best Canadian ETF equivalent for CDN stocks

Q: As STIP and TIP have ceased to pay their previously excellent distributions, I have been looking for alternatives with similar distribution, diversification and volatility characteristics. XHY seems a valid choice; however, can you comment/provide alternatives? Thanks.

Q: I have the above in my TFSA along with 5 individual stocks currently.
Any gapes or duplication in the ETFs, Should I just add to each equally with any new contributions to an approx 10-12 % weighting for all and thereafter considerate on individual stocks for more growth torque.

Q: Am looking to invest in a Canadian Dividend ETF.
I have researched the above ETF's, they all have pros & cons.
Am leaning slightly towards VDY at this point.
Criteria: Will be in a non-registered account, am after monthly dividend income with
some moderate growth potential. Am not overly concerned with a high weighting in financials, ideally would have a lower MER but am after solid 3-5 year growth.
If forced to choose one only, which ETF would you recommend?
Thanks for the great service,
Steve

Q: Hello 5i, I currently own the BMO Monthly Income Fund (25% of porfolio) and some xtr(2%). I wish to liquidate the fund and get another etf or 2 to replace it and am considering the above dividend etfs. I would like the best of both worlds high yield/low fees and some growth with low volatility Which of the 4 would you consider adding to my xtr etf and why? Should I also increase my xtr holding. I have some GIC and am trying to be on the conservative side with this account but do hold some reits and utility etfs.
Thanks
