Q: I have enough US cash to fund 5 -6 years of planned withdrawals. The rest of the Portfolio is equity that I will hold for the noted term.
Looking for an ETF that will pay out monthly to cash flow the payout. Your suggestions ? Should I convert to Canadian dollars at the outset and invest in Canadian ?

Q: just wondering as tfsa time is coming again if it is ok to put bep.un or bip.un or a cdr
brk into a tfsa account. Any tax implications as i want to get the most of my tfsa for down the road .

Q: My daughter has a, no work, portfolio of these three ETFs and has averaged 24% for the past two and a half years. I have done only slightly better with my DIY portfolio - mainly thanks to you. With Trump gaining the White House would it be better to load up on VFV rather than XIC. Currently it is VFV 40&, XIC 40%, QQQ 20%.

Q: I'm trying to get my portfolio up to date on Quicken. Having a problem finding the value of SOBO as of the date of the spinoff.

Q: A previous question was answered on expected PNG earnings. The concensus was provided. Estimates EPS 1c; revenue $24.05M. Expected November 13 (not officially announced, however). Does 5i have a different view? What are your expectations? Since the bought deal closed a week ago, the stock has been very strong. Is it getting ahead of itself? Is it best to sit and see what happens with earnings before buying?

With much thanks to 5i, my winning stocks far outweigh my losers. However, I'm thinking of doing a little post election portfolio cleanup of two stocks.

Just trying to decide if I should consider cutting my losses on Aspen Aerogels and Transmedics, or if you think the analysts might have it correct and they are worth holding for another quarter or two?

I think I may have missed the boat on Axon, which I have deliberated about buying for two years. It has gone up so rapidly with the Trump win, that it may do some consolidating for a while.

If you have some small-mid cap suggestions that you think are showing good momentum and might be a replacement for ASPN and TMDX, please give me a few ideas. This could include Axon or any other sector stock, US or Canadian.

Q: Your thoughts on earnings report

Q: How will Trump’s tariff policy impact Canadian companies operating in the United States? Taking ATZ as an example, will the tariffs raise Aritzia's costs, making their clothing less competitive in the U.S. and potentially slowing their expansion there? Additionally, which Canadian companies with U.S. operations are most likely to feel the effects of these tariffs?

If one believes the Canadian dollar is going to be weak against the US$ for the next few years, when one buy US index ETFs like S&P 500 listed on the TSE, is it better to get the hedged or unhedged version and the reasoning behind.

Q: I am currently holding BN, GSY, JPM, and RY in the financials sector and am considering selling GSY and buying BRK.B. I've held GSY for a number of years so have had a nice gain but wonder if BRK.B wouldn't be a more consistent mover?

Q: Costco had a pretty big jump in its share price this past week....was there any news or anything to explain this?

Also, while Trump only takes power in January and things take time, but it is often said that the market is forward looking. I have to think that a lot of what Costco sells is imported (eg from China); though his threat might just be a lot of hot air, does the potential for them have a significant impact on Costco if Trump brings in big tariffs? Is this anything to worry about?
