Q: When recommending CROX 5i makes it crystal clear that volatility is to be expected.
That has certainly been true.
i like the company, less so the stock given most of the vol has been down since my purchase.
it is now showing some decent upside M.
Does 5i expect 6 month to one year M to be more biased to up than down.
I am inclined to hold and add if the risk reward justifies it…. otherwise I would look for an opportunity to sell it and move the money into one of your current higher conviction suggestions.
Q: Hello,
I have built up a TRI position in a registered account since 2006, and it has now grown to become just under 10% of the portfolio. I plan on continuing to hold for many more years unless something changes.
Bearing in mind your usual advice about position sizing and over concentration, and understanding that you can't provide personal recommendations, is TRI a company that you would be more comfortable holding in an 8-10% weight, or a 6-8% weight?
Thanks.
Q: I am overweight in financials with BNS, TD, SLF, POW, Visa and underweight in Utilities. I was thinking of letting POW go. Thoughts on this?
For Utilities, I looked at TA with its very low P/E but it is still stuck in non-renewables at the moment. Thoughts on this? What utility (ies) would you suggest?
I am just asking for thoughts/suggestions.
Your advice is greatly appreciated.
These are big loosers in my TFSA, more than 50%. Do you see any chance of a significant upside for these stocks in a reasonable time frame or further deterioration ? I am tempted to liquidate them and recover a bit of cash for a better investment. What would you do if you were in my shoes ?
Q: hi, can I get your current thoughts on NIO. any projections when they will start making a profit? do you see any serious risk of liquidity problems? cheers, chris
Q: I took a position in ZRE, I also try to avoid office REITS and a to high proportion of retail REITS in the present market..I noticed that ZRE fact sheet shows 68% retail REITS,and no residential REIT in its sector allocation ! Among the 23 holdings, at least 9 appear to be residential REITS.Could you please indicate the "real percentage" of retail REITS and of residential REITS in this ETF.Are sector allocation % calculated from the number of REITS or by the cumulative NAV in each category?
Q: Hi 5i Research team,
Not a question:
the larger drop in price of TD yesterday was possibly due to the fact that “TD Bank executives knew about US probe six months before disclosing it” revealed by a report from The Capitol Forum yesterday. See G&M article for more details.
Thank you for your good work,
Eric
Can I please get your opinion on Payfare? Would you rate this a buy or sell and if a buy, at what price do you see as an entry point? If there are a red flag that would prevent you from adding it to your Growth Model Portfolio, what would that be?
Q: On the NYSE, Brookfield Infrastructure is listed in these 2 ways. Would you kindly explain the difference in relation to dividends and Canadian income taxes.
Thanks.
Q: On a PE basis, the stock looks reasonably priced. On a P/B or P/S, it looks overvalued. What would you used as the best metrics to value a company in the semi space?
Also, could you add ARM Holdings to your company profiles?
Q: Are either of these high dividend funds worth investing in? Each has had rapid price appreciation recently but seem relatively impenetrable per dividend safety and long-term growth prospects.
Q: What is the outlook for AMKR in 2024. Also, what is the street consensus. I would very much appreciate your out look for this company in 2024-25, and would you by at this price. Thank you very much for your great service.
