Q: Hello Peter & Team,

I have held ZRE for some time for the dividend and now have a capital depreciation over 15%. Should I hold this? Sell? And if I should sell and take the loss, what would you recommend for a good dividend ETF with minimal MER & volatility?

Thanks for all you do

5i Research Answer:

We can't answer personally but we think ZRE looks decent for income today. As rates fall, the sector should improve. There is some recession risk in Canada, but we think it is largely priced in. We would not expect miracles here, but if an investor has held it through the downturn we think it deserves some more time as conditions in the sector may improve with low or stable interest rates.
