Q: If the stock market closed for the next 10 years, what 10-15 stocks in Canada or US would you own right now for total growth? Looking for top, highly predictable compounding businesses that have strong pricing power.

Q: I am considering increasing my half position to a full one for BEP.UN. Could you comment on this company given it's decline. I would like to know its payout ratio (based on cash flow, of course) and if you consider it a buy/sell/hold at the moment. Also, do you see any potential headwinds for it in the future?
Any insights are appreciated!
Thanks!
Paul

Q: I have been doing some research on the UCaas space. Ring (RNG) seems to have the best product but ZOOM has a better balance sheet. Or can Microsoft's teams eat both of their lunches (after all teams is free!) What is your opinion? I am leaning towards RNG. Should I be concerned with liquidity in 2026 when they have over $600 to be refinanced (or paid off)?

Q: 1) My 20 ry old son wants to invest his money and seems to have high risk tolerance.. I'm generally more confident in the US mkt rather than the CDN. Is he better off...
a) transferring his CN money into US and taking the 24% hit and selling in 10 years the exchange rate might be...?
b) buying US stocks in their CDN version which is usually hedged?
c) or buying a US stock in a CDN acct and losing the exchange fee when buying and selling?

2) Can you pick 6 stocks that you think should do well for the next 5 years?

Q: My top holdings right now are (these are all primarily in an open account, but small portion in registered)
MSFT @ 9.18% of the equity portfolio (up 487%)
AAPL @ 7.47% of the equity portfolio (up 496%)
BCE @ 4.89% of the equity portfolio (down 16.52%)
Thinking of selling some of MSFT to rebalance and possibly AAPL to rebalance and selling some BCE for tax loss to offset some of the gains.
In the present market does this seem like good options? What could be purchased instead? I do rely on the BCE dividend for some income and might want to replace this. Will also be looking to transfer cash and/or stocks to TFSA's in the new year.
Are there better options in my situation? (the rest of the equity portfolio is fairly balanced except an over amount in financials)
Thanks,
Steve

Q: I bought Hershey in my RRSP in mid-2024. While mostly known for chocolate, the company has been diversifying into non-chocolatey snacks. However, the stock price remains down due to high cocoa prices. Would you be content to hold Hershey and collect the dividend until cocoa prices drop? Would you have some other suggestions? I tend to go for boring US dividend payers that also have some growth potential in my RRSP. My top holdings right now are MSFT, COST, MA, BIP.UN, ENB, and O. I also hold VOO as an underlying holding. Thank you.

Q: Hello

What is your view on starting a new position for long term, in Constellation Energy, after Monday's 12.5% decline ?

The quarterly results and the guidance, as reported today morning, seem to be impressive, handily beating street estimates. What are your thoughts ?

Apparently most nuclear energy stocks were down today, in response to FERC decision to reject a proposal from the grid operator to ramp up the amount of power supplied to Amazon's data centre by Talen Energy. The FERC said in its filing Friday that it rejected the Amazon nuclear power agreement due in part to concerns that it could threaten the reliability of the power grid and raise energy costs for the public.

How could this impact CSG's 20 years power deal with Microsoft, which still needs approval from the NRC ?

Thank You

Q: Hi There,

I own the first 3 companies in equal weightings and have done reasonably well with each. I’d like to buy AVGO but I need to sell one of the three.

All things considered which 1 do you think I should sell with a 5 year horizon.

Thank you!

Q: Hi Team,
I am a bit perplexed about why the last couple days NVDA has been trending down after earnings releases such as Meta, GOOG, Msft which all seem to show massive spending on AI. You would think this will translate into high demand for NVDA chips which hopefully will bold well for NVDA earnings. Any thoughts on the outlook here for NVDA earnings estimates? I assume the correct answer as usual will be to hold the stock into earnings. I am also surprised Meta and Msft are dropping after great earnings.

Thanks,
Shane.

Q: Hello 5i:
I want to add to my AI exposure with a 3 – 5 year horizon.
I already have sufficient TSLA and AAPL, and moderate positions in NVDA and MSFT, and a starting position in PLTR.
What would be your choice(s) for adding to any of these, and/or starting new positions such as AVGO, DELL , TSM, or others? I have avoided GOOG due to possible breakup legislation.
Many thanks for your ongoing great service.
