Q: Morning,
Is the yield an eligible div? Also, I have MFT in my RRSP account and wondering if having it in TFSA would be any different for withholding tax etc?
Q: Hi folks, can please ask your opinion on Q results for Aimia, the departure of current CEO,and prospects for company/stock going forward. Seems to have stabilized and lots of potential upside if they get things right. Thanks as always,jb
Q: I am largely an extremely long term buy and hold investor. With respect to tech stocks over the next three decades I see the usual suspects alphabet, amazon, facebook and apple as fairly certain bets over that time frame notwithstanding potential government intervention causing breakups. That said, what other US tech companies would you feel have similar potential staying power for the extremely long term aside from Cognex ? Which 4-5 others would you select ?
I continue to spread the good word about this site. You do solid work.
Q: Hi, 5i!
We have 10% of our portfolio in CPD... What do you think of selling half of this position, 5% of the portfolio, and replacing it with ENB (Enbridge), say, and/or another "hard to ignore" etf (recently Ryan, in an Etf & Mutual Fund article, identified 3 "hard to ignore"opportunities: CPD, VOX and ZUT)? Please note: we hold the Balanced Equity portfolio, so already have 2% of the Canadian part of our portfolio in ENB.
Thanks!

Q: I am looking for a bond ETF to park a substantial amount of money $400K plus for the next 12-24 months. In today's environment with interest rates on the rise i am looking at the following MFT, HYI, XHY or is there a Pimco ETF that would be more suitable. My goal would be to make 3-4% in a safe investment. Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Q: I recently sold my Spartan shares for $6.77 - as of yesterday the price was down to $6.51 and I am looking at repurchasing.
in your opinion, should I purchase Vermilion or stay with Spartan (is there an advantage to be found here)?
It is my understanding that owners of Spartan receive .15 of a Vermilion share if the deal goes through!
Q: Hi team,
What is your view of QSR given recent earnings which were strong and the current short attack on the stock? This morning on CNBC I saw a story on some U.S. bigwig (Chanos) shorting QSR and Dunkin Donuts as he sees their “asset lite” model of “clipping coupons” from the franchisees not working in the longer term if the franchisees are struggling. What’s your take on this short guy’s story and the pressure on the stock? How long does this tend to play out and what is your confidence level on QSR going forward?
Thanks again,
dave
Q: Hi Team,
With 52 week low ($10.60) on KPT, time to buy 1/2 position ? The dividend is quite high, also I do not own any paper/forest.
Thank you as always,
Tak
Q: I hold Teck and Nutrien with the balance of my resource holdings in XMA. I have an equal amount of funds in each. I am considering selling XMA to purchase LIF. I know this will give me less diversity, but Teck and Nutrien are major weights in XMA which is otherwise heavy in gold stocks with low dividends and weak growth. At least LIF would give me decent dividends. What do you think? Thanks.
Q: Re. Tamara's question about sources for info. I find stockchase.com helpful. It complies comments and opinions from BNN Market Call in a searchable format. You can get multiple viewpoints on a company or see all comments by a single guest

Q: Fanuc corp has really taken a hit. I’m down 22% with a position of about 1 1/2% position in my portfolio. Do you think it’s worth adding to the position? Why is it down so much?
Q: Why are you not adding to your holdings of Enbridge in the Balanced Equity portfolio which represents 1.94% of this portfolio. Do you not view this as a buying opportunity. Thanks. Gerry
Q: Recently bought ENF before Minnesota pipeline concern. What are your thoughts about this Fund. Do you think it is better (or worse to hold than Enbridge? Thanks.
