Q: With a $150,000 balanced portfolio and about 25 positions, what would be the suggested starting weightings be for each of the KXS, GUD, SHOP and TOY positions?

Q: I sold Dhx.b for tax loss selling and maybe repurchasing after 30 days. However, the high debt load does concern me. Do you have any alternatives in the consumer discretionary sector at this time. Not looking for a trade but rather a long term hold.

Q: When do you expect TOY will report the holiday season results? An answer to a question on Nov 22 suggested that TOY not be purchased until that occurs. Your portfolio sold 1/2 of TOY in November and I am wondering what do to with mine?

Q: I'm thinking of selling my position in Stella Jones. Its had a great recovery from $37, I'm up a decent amount, I think its showing some resistance around $50. I still think its a great company with a bright future, but am thinking of switching out of it for another stock that has much higher growth prospects or at the very least pays a much more reasonable dividend. It makes up the smallest portion of my portfolio (my other holdings are FTS, ZWE, BEP-UN, GSY, and MJN (Cronos)). I'm 39 years old, make above average income, and I definitely have a high risk threshold.

What are your thoughts on switching out of SJ right now for another company with faster/greater growth prospects? A dividend paying stock is nice, but definitely not necessary as all of my holdings pay dividends except for Cronos. I've been watching BTL since the spring when it was below $3, but that ship may have sailed as of this week.

If you're ok with selling SJ, can you please suggest some names that you think would make a good addition to my current holdings

Is this just another nuisance claim? The stock has dropped 7% today.

Just a note: I see Spin Master products being sold at Master Mind, Walmart and Canadian Tire. I don't think the Toys-R-Us problem will impact Spin Master sales in the long run.

Q: In a cash account, I have 18% loss on this. I don't need this money for now. For growth or growth with torque where would you go. Or I should keep it.

As a recent new member, I am both impressed and a little overwhelmed with all the information. I started making a lists of potential companies to invest with, but decided to cut to the chase and just ask you....I am looking for your recommendation for both income and growth companies.... perhaps 4 or 5 of each. I am fully invested in TD, which has done well for me this last year, as well as a couple energy stocks.... Spartan and Ring. I have MG (2.8% +25% ) ACQ (0.35%, -50%).
I have also GSY but I consider it financial sector.

Q: On November a question was asked to buy a 1/2 or full position in TOY and your reply was to buy but didn't mention to buy only 1/2 or full position so what would be best 1/2 or full position? If already owned is a full position okay or would you reduce it to 1/2

Q: As stated,TOY missed estimated eps,but sales increased by 26% accompanied by sharp increase in both allowance for doubtful accounts to $9.9m & accounts receivable.It appears that there could be more write off for the account of Toy R US in future.I wonder why management did not provide details of TOY R US & its impact given that it & 2 other big companies represents a sizeable portion of sales

Q: In the latest financials did TOY make a write down related to Toys R Us?
I would have thought they would have significant uncollectible receivables.
