Q: I have 20% of my TFSA in US $ and currently hold AXON and SMCI, split 40% and 60%. I am fine continuing with AXON in which I have a 40% gain) but have been dithering about SMCI. I did take some off the table at its highs (used to buy AXON) and there is still a 68% gain in the holding. I could (1) reduce the position and add to AXON - or add a 3rd holding ? ; (2) sell all of AXON or (3) just stay the course. Your arm's length comments would be appreciated as well as your thoughts on possible replacement - sector not an issue.

Q: Hi I received my new shares of AW from my old AW.UN. For my 355 of AW.UN I now have 345 of AW plus I received $390.48 in cash. I will not get full details until I get my statement at the end of the month. In the mean time the broker has stated " MER - A&W REVENUE ROYALTIES INCOME FUND TRUST UNITS DEFAULT: C$.99472 CASH +.97311 SHS + C$0.1052 DIST PER 1 OLD " Can you help me figure out this logic in layman's terms? Q: Recently I have found the TBIL and ZMMK ETFs to be a safe place to keep my cash and earn a half decent return.
However, the upcoming US elections, the upheaval in the Middle East, Ukraine, and the ongoing threat to global oil prices, is increasing the possibility of a sudden spike in interest rates, and a complete reversal of the current narrative of lower rates.
How would TBIL and ZMMK be affectted by such a turn of events (i.e. a spike in interest rates) and more generally, what investment asset classes would you recommend that would best mitigate such risks.

Q: For someone who wants physical exposure to gold, is it better to buy Sprott Physical Gold Trust or Sprott Physical Gold Trust Unit? I understand that the former trades on the TSX and the latter on the NYSE. What is your preference? Thank you

Q: I noticed in your ETF and Mutual Fund newsletter service (which is excellent by the way) that you reduced the technology weighting in the Growth ETF Portfolio from 11% to 4%. This is a fairly significant shift. Can you please explain the reasoning behind this reduction and, for the reallocation of the proceeds.

Q: A number of the DIY brokerages have promotions for moving over your accounts. I moved my maxed out TFSA to TD. I asked about the bonus pay out into my TFSA and they said it's a credit not a contribution, therefore I have nothing to worry about-sounds a little wonky to me.

Q: What are your thoughts on Converge's latest quarter? I've held this stock for a long time looking for a win but somehow it always seems to disappoint me. Is it time to move on?

Does it have a significant enough market share that its comments that their data center work has been delayed and cyber security work has doubled that these comments could be a leading indicator to sell data center related stocks and buy cyber security stocks. If so, what stocks would you sell and/or buy? I've not bought into cyber security stocks yet but this information might be the trigger for me. Thanks!

Q: Is journaling shares from a TSX listed company to its US counterpart, a way to potentially benefit from a weakening canadian dollar and a strengthening Us dollar?

For Example, I journal my brookfield shares to the US market today, the current exchange is 1.38.
5 years from now I sell my shares in US dollars and convert back to canadian dollar at 1.45.

Does this make sense?

Q: For some time I have been considering increasing my position in ATD but the company’s continued push to acquire Japanese 7-Eleven parent Seven & i Holdings Co gives me pause. Sounds like a whole lotta debt and considerable risk. Is the management team carefully assessing this or could this mainly be driven by Alain Bouchard‘s ego?

Q: This has been my only gold stock but except for a nice dividend, it has gone nowhere with the price of gold skyrocketing.
I’d like to replace it with something with more torque. Any suggestions! AEM and WPM have skyrocketed. Would they still be buys? Perhaps B2gold will move next year when their mines come on stream?

Q: I currently have a full position in LULU and am currently around break even. I am a bit nervous about LULU and your most recent comments have been a bit ambivalent. I'm thinking of switching to either CROX ( low PE which is uncommon these days, it seems) and ULTA ( the Buffett blessing). I like LULU and my wife (yoga instructor) has many LULU pieces as do all of her friends. So brand loyalty is strong, at least from one data point but what about the next five years? Stay or go? Thanks
