Q: I’m approaching retirement and looking to shift my portfolio away from value and growth-focused investments toward an income-oriented strategy. My primary goal is to generate regular, reliable cash flow through dividend-paying stocks, rather than relying on capital appreciation.
I’d appreciate your recommendations on the following:
• Your top 10 Canadian dividend-paying stocks suitable for income investing
• Suggested sector allocations for building a balanced and diversified income portfolio
Q: NBIS market cap is much lower than CRWV yet NIBS has more offerings in autonomous driving, robotics, training etc. It was nice to see the recent GS price target of $68.
Do you see a pathway for NBIS market cap to expand further as they continue to execute and get discovered?
Q: Keeps moving to the right. What is the current institutional ownership? Can't just be retail investors moving the stock higher. Seems like analysts want to like the stock but they keep putting out low share price targets because of valuation.
Did TSLA, NVDA, AMZN etc have stretched valuations and then they grew into them? Can you see PLTR at a 1T market cap valuation over time?
Q: Are there any mutual funds or ETFs which invest in Private equity? Or simply buy the companies (Blackrock, Fairfax, KK etc) to get that exposure. I would like to add that for diversification but need direction.
Q: Please give us your best guess as to what is happening with REGN. Everything looks okay for a hold but the market seems to disagree with JP Morgan who has a 800$ target (almost 50% upside). Opportunity or falling knife?
Thanks to you and o all the members for excellent questions and contribution
Q: Hi, now that ATD has formally dropped the proposed take over of 7-Eleven, where do you see the stock price reverting to? Low-mid 70's ...until they announce their next deal.?
I have owned (and trimmed) over the last 10+ years so have done well but I don't think I will get the same returns as I have previously. Can you please suggest a replacement?
Q: In a head to head, for a core portfolio holding, would you pick IQLT or your favourite comparable broad market index ETF covering the same general geographies?
Why?
And what is the alternative ETF?
Thanks!
Q: Hi group can you please give ne your top 2 picks (cad or us) in the top six sectors. Also rate them in order of preference c/w entry price and target % for each sector ...thanks
Q: While very disappointed in what we will finally get for our PKI shares, I am thinking that the best option might be to take all SUN shares for my PKI shares and hope that the SUN shares go higher, perhaps closer to $44 over the next 6 months. I don't see anyone getting all cash for their PKI shares. What would you do with your shares? Also, I voted against the takeover and I am wonder when and how I will get the opportunity to indicate my choice of compensation? Thanks for your great service.
the dividend of 14% is nice, but the stock keeps bouncing along the bottom.
If int. rates go lower (big if), may NLY get bit of a lift?
Am inclined to sell.
Thanks
jerry
Q: In the Globe and Mail, July 16, there was an article by Scott Barlow called "Valuations and market concentration are reasons for concern." He likens the current Technology sector to mirror many of the same realities as the 2000's- before the dot com bust. What is your opinion?
As always, Thank you for the fantastic service too and helpful guidance. Ric
