Q: I think I read that you were wrong on ROKU. Does that mean that I need to sell my holdings in TFSA to the heart breaking tune of $50,000 US? Pass the tissues please...

Q: Good day. A little over 1 year ago I allocated about 5% of my portfolio to the high growth/risk stocks. Needles to stay it hasn't worked out as expected. At this stage I am hoping that you can give me insight what the future holds for these companies as an investment. Which should be sold and subsequently move the funds moved into the keepers.
Deduct as many credits as you feel appropriate.
Much appreciated

Q: Like many people. I'm currently down quite a bit on a lot of growth stocks even though I bought them well below their all-time highs. For example, I'm down 50% on PYPL, 45% on Roku, 35% on Shop.
I have decades before retirement (and I do have a pretty balanced portfolio) so I'm not worried about my investments over the long-term, but it still hurts to see quite a bit of my positions so deep in the red.
I know it's impossible to predict (and it's always possible that some of these growth stocks will never recover), but in your experience how long do you think we could reasonably expect it to take before some of these growth stocks recover?
For example do you think it's reasonable for us to expect it to take 3 years, 5 years, 10 years for the above mentioned stocks (like PYPL, ROKU, SHOP) to recover?

Q: I'd like to start picking up some tech stocks and am looking for recommendations in Canada and the US. Currently thinking of the following:
US: EPAM, ADBE, MSFT, FB
CA: TOI, TIXT, SHOP and NUVEI
Do you like this list or are there changes you would make to my list?

Q: Hi!
On Feb 17th, you were quite positive on Roku but today after terrible earnings you are not suggesting to add to positions. If this was a stock that was liked at 350 or higher, why is is not a screaming deal today? Has something fundamentally changed regarding this company and I would imagine that if you are recommending to a huge platform like this you have done the homework regarding this company that we lay people can't properly do. If you can please comment on the surprises you could not have anticipated it would be most appreciated. Thank you!

Q: Could you please comment on their results?
Would you add to existing position?
Thanks,

Q: My position in ROKU has decreased to less than 1% with the losses it has taken from the highs (bought at $353/share). Would you recommend adding to it at these levels? How expensive is it right now? Is it at the high end of its peers? I am comfortable with risk, is held within my TFSA, and looking 5+ years hold.

Q: Hi,
Have some cash to put to work. What would be in your top 5-10 CDN and US stocks that fit the descriptions below. Can be value or growth. Long term investor. Thanks!
“stocks with fair valuations that are at great price points and have taken a hit during this market volatility”
“high-quality stocks with sustainable growth, solid valuation frameworks, robust profits, positive earnings revisions, and strong momentum compared to peers.”
“wonderful company at a fair price”
“Bargains are the holy grail of the true stock picker. We see the latest correction not as a disaster, but as an opportunity to acquire more shares at low prices. This is how great fortunes are made over time,”

Q: For a 5 year hold, With the 23% drop in FB, is it better to sell at a loss in a registered account and buy stocks such as Roku, afrm, upst, Netflix, Shopify? These stocks are also down lately. Would you make the same decision for a 2 year hold?
Q: I'm thinking about taking a position in Roku, my thinking is their nice cash balance should limit the downside risk.
However I pause when I see it's trading around 10x P/S from the data you provide.
You had mentioned earlier that 10x P/S is at the high end of the range for high growth tech.
Thanks Gord

Q: I own equal amounts of PINS, ROKU, ZM in a TFSA, all down substantially. To which of these would you add this year's TFSA contribution? Or alternatively consolidate or split the funds amongst more than one.
Thanks!

Q: Hi,
I currently own META and QCLN.
For long term hold, I'm thinking about switching these two into SMART stocks because they dropped more.
1) Do you think SMART stocks will outperform META and QCLN in the long term?
2) Do you think SMART stocks are cheap enough right now given almost 50% drops?
Thank you!

Q: Can you please explain your enthusiasm for ROKU? Every time I think of following your advice and buying I can’t help wondering how long it will be before Google and Amazon and the TV manufacturers squeeze ROKU out. I see it similarly to my reluctance to buy into Bombardier when hey were trying to manufacture jets…it seemed like only a matter of time before “the big boys” (Boeing and Airbus) squeezed them out of the business. And they did.
Q: Hi 5i,
Would you please provide two of your preferred stocks : One CAD one US, for a high risk high growth for the next 2/3 years. Any sector.
