Q: Hi,

Waiting on the 30 day period to release-purchase NFI after recording a tax loss. Purchased REAL with the funds from NFI. So far the rise in SP in NFI has equaled the rise in REAL.

Based on the aforementioned, would you sell REAL in order to repurchase NFI, or just keep REAL, based on current fundamentals, without regard to weightings by sector?

Q: Peter: In your growth portfolio you have REAL listed as consumer discretionary. I don’t have a security in this sector. Any suggestions? I have REAL has more of a technology stock similar to LSPD, which I own. I’m also light in health care, own ATE only , thoughts on GUD, and REAL.

Q: Hello Peter & Team,

I noticed you added REAL.CA to the Growth Portfolio in the past month or so at 12.95. It's down slightly since. (ask today is around 12.28) I am considering adding a position to my Portfolio in consideration for how well I have done in following other Growth Portfolio additions you have made. My question is... what your reasoning was behind adding REAL to the 5i mock portfolio and, have you seen any changes to their story since doing so that you feel reflects negatively or positively on your decision?

Thanks for all you do

gm

Q: Happy New Year and welcome to a new decade :)
I plan to take this year's TFSA contribution and divide it equally between ARE, REAL & XBC. The goal is growth. Any dire warnings before I proceed? Thank you.

Q: Thank you for your email yesterday on the potential investment opportunity in Real Matters. I think I’m missing something concerning the company’s supposed added value. In most instances, people who are seeking to buy a property, whether residential or commercial, will contact a loan officer at a local lending institution who would then assign local professionals (brokers, notaries, appraisers, attorneys, etc.) with whom they’ve done business satisfactorily in the past. Each professional would perform his or her services as required by the lender and the mortgage would then be granted.
In situations like the above, which I presume is what occurs most often, what added value would Real Matters bring to the process? Even in a case where a buyer is looking to purchase a property at a distant location, wouldn’t it be to her advantage to seek out a mortgage from a local lender who has a close working relationship with local professionals who have an intimate knowledge of the territory? In what way would the lender benefit from searching for professionals via the Real Matters platform?

Q: Hi !
Being overweight in tech (holding those above roughly in equal amounts), could you indicate, in order, which one you would let go to create some cash ? I also hold the following ETFs: igv, vgt, iusg which may create some duplication.
Thanks as always,
Jacques, Īle-des-Soeurs
