Q: Your thoughts and opinions on the proposed merger of these two companies please (voting this Friday).
I have substantial shares in both. Also, if this puts me overweight in AEM, who would you suggest as a replacement for KL if needed?
Thanks so much for your services.

Q: Why is AEM lagging the other gold companies with the increase in gold price?
Would you hold it just for income?
What are you top 5 gold picks right now?
Any good gold stock that you think has potential and is "under the radar"
You think there could be a reversal in the future from Crypto back into gold?as its tangible?
Just wondering.

Q: Hi 5i,
I'm trying to put together a materials allocation for my portfolio that pay a dividend. These are the companies I have come up with that pay a stable dividend and appear to not have too much related business. Is more diversification needed and can you make recommendations. Also is there any better replacements for these companies I would like to have at least a two percent dividend. Thanks!

Q: Hello, About ten days ago, shortly after the merger news, 5i was indifferent between the two stocks. Is this still the case, or do you have a preference?

Secondly, if you choose AEM, I already hold it at a 30% loss, but continue to like it, more so after the news. My crystalized cap gains for the year and scant available losses(kudos to 5i for their part in that) have me considering buying KL and selling AEM. Do you see any timing or other issues with that approach from an investment point of view? If so, would you advise to stick to the traditional sell AEM and buy back 30 days later approach if still liking it?
Thanks,
Tim

Q: Do you think high inflation or even stagflation will come to fruition in the near future? If yes, is it best to save and build up your cash position or continue to invest in great companies in both scenarios?
Which stocks/sectors would be best to invest in a high inflation or stagflation environment?
Thanks

Q: Hi

Can I sell AEM for tax loss in my cash account and buy XMA on the same day?

It is noted that AEM is 4.74%.of XMA.

Would this allow me the tax loss?

Any other suggestions you have are most welcome.

Thank you

Mike

Q: I am a holder of KL and FNV. Considering the undervalued pricing of AEM shares and my desire to augment my gold holdings, I was going to buy AEM.

With the merger announced today (28 Sept) between AEM and KL, would you be a buyer of either company today? Does it matter which one now? Your thoughts on the merger since these two names have been a couple of your gold favourites?

My regards and thanks for your work.

Q: Hello, AEM stock has decreased by about 36% from a year ago, and the gold bullion CGL has decreased by about 8% from a year ago. I know we can’t perfectly correlate these two, but how can you explain such great difference? Thank you,

Q: Good morning 5i team,

Thanks for the amazing platform and service.

Would you invest in gold stocks in the current market and world environment?

My position in precious metals and materials is lacking. This is something I normally purchase cyclically and sell when necessary.

If so. What would your top rec's be?

Thanks a ton!

Q: Hi 5iresearch team

On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being certainly, how likely do you think a stagflation scenario will happen in the US economy?

Second question, what types of investment will likely win in stagflation (gold, certain stocks, bonds, real estate, cash … etc)?

Third question: can you recommend 3 Cdn and 3 US stocks that you think will do well in stagflation? Can you please rank them if possible?

Thank you for your great service, I really enjoy reading your answers everyday in the Q&A section.

Q: looking at my precious metals holdings over the years they have either lost money or done nothing with the exception of LUX. Is it time to switch this allocation to bitcoin/ethereum and give up on gold?

Q: I submitted a previous question about my sister converting her portfolio from a robo manager to self-directed. The last question dealt with the equities side (75%) while this one deals with the fixed income side (25%).

My suggestions to her all come from what I've gleaned from your website, so I'm really asking for confirmation and criticism here.

She wants 10% in gold so I've recommended 5% of Sprott's PHYS.TO and 5% of AEM.TO. We realize these are not fixed income but plan to use them as a long term hold (insurance) and not speculatively. For other 15%, I have suggested VAB.TO and XSB.TO.

Some of her funds are in USD so she could buy US or Global bonds if that would add safety. It seems that would complicate things unnecessarily, a main objective being to keep it simple.

Q: I am interested in investing in gold. Please advise if this is a good time to put money into this and if so, which company do you think has the most potential. As well please advise which companies to stay away from at this time.
Thank you for your great service
