Q: Hello Folks:
As many others I have been hanging onto our Tech stocks (Goog, Amazon and Apple) hopping improvement is in sight.

Currently in consumer stocks we own Costco and Johnson and Johnson and media advises are diversifying more into this segment (eg. Mendalez, P&G etc.) useful strategy.

Do you think thinning down Tech is good advice? Perhaps utilities such as Enbridge could also be good defensive play. We are seniors valuing dividends with which Tech world is parsimonious. Apple appears the best bet in Tech as they actually produce and sell real products. Everything changes, however we value your thoughts and suggestions of including specific equity options (including an ETF). Currently I do not own any ETF's as I have preferred individual companies.
Thank you very much
brian

Q: When Lumine starts trading later this month, I will want to add to the shares that I will receive by virtue of my CSU holding. Is it your expectation that there will initially be some selling pressure and hence price weakness as investors who do not see Lumine as a core holding, sell the shares that they received? Also as was the case with Topicus, can I assume that an additional source of selling will be index funds who will be forced to sell their shares?
In your opinion, when will be the optimal time to acquire additional shares - immediately after they start trading, or gradually over the following weeks?...thanks...Glenn

Q: I am considering purchasing CDNS, although it is quite high right now. Also considering either SQ or Nuvei. Wondering what your thoughts might be on these stocks and if I should hold off on purchasing?
Thanks.

Q: Hi 5i,
A couple of somewhat related questions:
I'm curious about the 'expression of interest' someone (or some thing) may have made known to CTS management in the past while. Would a potential purchaser be allowed a peek at the quarterly numbers before they were released yesterday in furtherance of its due diligence research, or have to await the release like the rest of us? My guess is the former, tied to a confidentiality agreement, but I'm not sure if that's the case with a publicly traded company.
And, also wondering: if the numbers were decent - as I thought they were - and no purchase deal gets announced quite soon, is it safe to assume there's likely nothing brewing? Or is it all just a black box until something - anything - is formally announced?
Thanks!
Peter

Q: My Tech holdings are getting too high, thanks to your good advice. Would you please provide your current ranking of the stocks listed? I've included GOOGL, even though I believe you place it in the comm/serv sector.
