Q: Hello,

I would appreciate your analysis of Brookfield Property Partners earnings announcement. I see that they have raised the quarterly dividend but by only a very MARGINAL amount. Dividend increases in each of the preceding 5 years averaged over 5% but this increase is less than 1%. Might that imply that management may be worried about the sustainability of the current dividend?

Q: Could you provide me with a list of 5 or 6 companies that are buying back stock and that have good growth prospects. These could be in any sector and any exchange in Canada or the U.S. Thanks.

Q: Any thoughts on ARE's recent acquisition of Voltage Power. I see that ARE has been in the "middle of the pack" in your Q&A. Neither at the top nor at the bottom. Can you foresee it reaching 21 $ again as they seem to be slowly and steadily acquiring companies that give them good growth potential.
Thanks in advance.

Q: I realize you prefer AW over PZA. I have owned PZA for some time now down about 20%....I can't make a strong enough case to replace PZA with AW to more closely match your portfolio. With the drop it is below a full position so technically needs to be topped up as I free up some cash. Can you make a case for selling PZA or do I just continue to hold it as a surrogate for AW in my portfolio. I am leaning towards topping up PZA to a full position and getting 8.9% yield off the div....

Q: I currently have positions in these two companies. (thanks to your guidance) I'm thinking of adding to both positions. Are you aware of any reasons why I shouldn't proceed with the purchases at this time? If you had to pick one investment over the other, which would you choose. Finally, is there another company that pays attention to the environment could have more short term upside? Thanks so much for your respected opinions.

Q: In reviewing the 5i responses to questions on these 3 companies you seem to favour BEP. In examing the numbers for the last 5 years through Morningstar I noted the following:
2015 16 17 18 19
AQN .30 .33 .37 .38 .79 EPS
6.53 7.14 7.62 6.40 12.9 ROE%
4.60 4.55 5.10 4.18 6.44 ROIC%
BEP. .01 -.23 -.18 .13 .31 EPS
.05 -1.08 -.81 .53 1.34 ROE%
1.86 1.85 1.70 2.82 3.26 ROIC%
NPI -.07 .64 .85 1.46 1.67 EPS
-1.85 15.7 22.1 35.6 39.6 ROE%
1.7 4.7 5.7 6.3 6.6 ROIC%
Both AQN and NPI would seem to have significantly stronger results (ROE%, ROIC%). What key data points do you look for in this investment sector? Your thoughts on your selection criteria would be appreciated.

Q: I have held LIF for a few years now and have used its cyclical nature to take profits at its highs by selling down to my initial position and when the cycle bottoms add back again to my initial position. In the meantime I collect a very nice dividend. We appear to be approaching the bottom part of the cycle and would like your view on why LIFs share price is currently depressed and when market conditions will improve again.
I am currently at a 1.5% weighting and would be looking to add back to a 3% position to ride the next wave.
Thank you for your perspective.

Q: Hi 5i team,
I was wondering what your opinion is of the Morningstar Quant reports which can be found within TD Direct investing. For example, each of these stocks are noted as ‘undervalued’ or significantly‘undervalued’. As well, they have little or no moat, and some are high or very high risk. Their stock prices are/have dropped a bit.
Would you consider it realistic decision making to include them in the mix of info resources?

Also, could you kindly rank these stocks if one were doing this year’s TFSA amount- it’s a small sum so is it best applied to one stock or divided?

I have SU and CNQ, similar amounts invested in each and both are above water a little.

Please deduct however many credits you like. Thank you for helping me!

Q: In a diversified RRSP, which two from above listed equities would be best chosen at this time (2-3 year hold) for income and some growth with strong consideration given to safety of the dividend.

Thank you.

Q: I feel I am over exposed to the Canadian Financial sector with TD and BNS making up 9% & 11% respectively of my portfolio. As well, I'm looking for more growth. I wish to sell one position and increase my US equities such as MA, V, MSFT, CRM. Would you consider this a reasonable plan and what bank would you recommend selling? Thank you.

Q: I own way too much of BIP.UN { 22.4% } and will be trimming when I get my free shares. And have a position in BEP.UN which has risen to a 6.3% position which I am okay with size wise. Even though these are two huge winners for me I always look at it as " Would I buy them now ? " .... Not sure that I would. Mr Market seems to be in love with the name Brookfield right now and the forward PE on BEP.UN is 298 { Source Yahoo Finance } which seems astronomical for a utility. And though I cannot find one for BIP.UN the trailing PE is 377. { If you have a forward PE I'd like to know what it is ? } ...I realize there is more to evaluating a company than the PE but I am thinking these two are expensive......Plus I kind of view them in the blue chip category not the wild growth spectrum.......What is your opinion on the fair valuation of these two companies versus " Investors have gone gaga for the name Brookfield right now " ?

Q: Seems like the renewable energy area has a future. Could get your top 6 stocks that you would purchase for growth and dividend? Which would be most affected if interest rates were to gradually rise? Thanks for the great service. Would like to stay in the cdn market, but a top us one or two would be appreciated.
