Q: What would be your top 3 choices if you were buying Canadian ETF’s that hold USA tech companies including those with an AI focus?

Q: I am looking for 6 undervalued stocks in the Canadian market. What would be as your top 5 picks in order of upside potential. I am interested in some of them to have dividends.

Q: I have an incorporated business investment account. There will be no new money coming in and I will not need the money for five to ten years. Currently, I have roughly 5% in each of CSU, SVI, WSP, MELI, and TSLA, and 10% in ZSP. The remainder is split between EIT and FIE, whose distributions are primarily capital gains and eligible dividends. Would you have some suggestions on how to tweak the portfolio? Thanks.

I'm sure a lot of work has gone into it by 5i and was just wondering how would you suggest your subscribers use these to influence/improve their investment decisions.

Q: My daughter is starting her TFSA. I have suggested a couch potato strategy to start - can you recommend a good all in one ETF that rebalances and any suggestions for 1-2 buy and hold Canadian stocks if she wants to try that out too.

Q: I am a big fan of Anduril, their mission and their CEO. The company will probably IPO in 2026. I would like to become a shareholder, but not at any price. Perhaps it starts trading up big on the IPO. What strategies would you suggest to establish a position while protecting myself from overpaying.

Q: I am assuming CPX was down Friday on heavy volume in response to Trump’s initiative to impose a cap on residential price increases, and require tech companies to pay for their own power centers . There was a concurrent selloff in independent US listed power companies as well.
How much exposure to the US market does CPX have?

Q: I realize that shareholders of record on 15 January will receive the annual dividend of US$15.00 per share. That said, any reason for the stock to fall C$134.00 the following day? The Canadian dollar is weak but c'mon now.

Q: It's almost too good to be true. I have owned HMX for 2.5 months and have a 5.82% share price gain on top of the monthly paid12% (annual) dividend. I understand that the underlying sector - financials - has been on a hot roll. Let's assume that banks were suddenly flat. How would that impact the share price performance and their ability to sustain the lofty dividend? i.e. can this potentially be a long term hold or am I just riding a wave?

Secondly how do you feel about the two sister ETFs HDIV and UMAX?

Please share if you think this will be of help to other members (and not unintentionally hurt them), I thought that I would share what price levels I’m watching the CSU family at for a reaction. But at the end of the day it’s just a guess:

Lumine - It sold off the hardest initially, so it may recover first. There was a strong reaction as soon as the price action dropped just below $23. Someone likes that price and immediately bought enough to stop and reverse the sell off. Therefore, if the price action drops below $23 again I am going to watch and see what happens. What I would like to see is price go slightly lower than before and then bounce back up quickly like before, and maybe even start a bit of a rally.

Topicus - There was a strong reaction when price dropped just below $109 on Thursday that looks similar to Lumine’s $23 level on the chart, so I’m watching to see if the price action consolidates around the level that it is now. There’s also a gap fill at $104 that I’m also keeping an eye on.

CSU - I’m watching to see what the price action does if it gets down to the $2,700 (or even the $2,500) level and if there is a reaction around there.


A sell off this dramatic is like trying to stop a freight train, the same way the market sells off at the end of a bull run. It will take time, but as long as the fundamentals of the company justify it then institutional buyers will step back in at a price level that they like the potential risk/reward of and provide support for a bottom where they will start accumulating. When I see that, I will look at adding to my position. (Take a look at the chart for BCE if you’d like to see an example of this.)

Wondering which of these two will have the greatest growth over the next 3-5 years?
Balance sheets look good for both with increasing revenues. I wonder given the optical industry is highly competitive will it stagnate Kits future growth more so then the robotics and battery supply industry.
Will the reduction in China tariffs help in the battery supply opportunities?
Would they be better in a registered account over a non registered?

Q: These continue to be beat down with crushing depreciation in Market Cap. Would you step into any one of these right now or any other names CDN or US that appear to be a screaming buy long term. If so,, what order would that be.

Q: I have large positions in most of Mag7, as well as VOO. For a 20 year time horizon, should I keep putting money into VOO or start a position in RSP for less concentration risk.
