Q: Hi Team,
Today seen some big % moves by many growth/ tech names; which seemed to come out of no where. Overall, what is your sense on where we are in this pullback? Is it time to start buying some beat down tech names? This being said, if you feel a person should be doing some buying at this time; what are your most convincing buys from todays levels? Some of the stocks I was looking at are SHOP (currently not owned), or add to either of this list which I currently own all: ATZ, TOI, U, RBLX, SQ. Currently I feel like we are watching a major buying opportunity unfold before our eyes...similar to oil stocks a couple years ago and feel I might regret not adding some new funds at this point to some high quality tech names that have been sold off some 50-75% in many names. Also, generally speaking; if a person is looking at holdings that are down say 60% (which I am with RBLX,U, APPS)...should we be doubling down? It seems if not it's almost hopeless to break even from these excessively sold off levels. Deduct as many credits as necessary. Thanks

Q: I own SHOPIFY in both my TFSA and in a taxable account at much higher prices. I also have cash in my TFSA with which I would like to buy more SHOP at todays price. I would like to then sell the shares in my taxable account immediately to lock in the tax loss after purchasing extra shares in my TFSA. Is this allowed or does the 30 day rule still apply ?

There hasn't been a question in a while on TTCF. It's latest Q report May 9) showed pretty good growth, reiterated forecast, new product to be released soon (non-frozen foray) they are low on debt, price has been crushed from IPO, they're small so risky but, .... at this low point they look to be worth a punt - what are your thoughts on it?

Q: Are the interest rate hikes to date, plus the expected hikes for the balance of this year based on BOC's aggressive stance yesterday, likely priced in to this stock now, or is there still a lot of downside risk?

It seems to me the biggest change is the fear or delinquencies?

Do you see decent chance of pretty good gains 3 years from now or is bankruptcy a real possibility? I have read speculation that banks may cut them off if they see a rise in charge-offs

Q: I would appreciate your expert opinion on the company's fiscal year end report issued today. Good time to add the company to my portfolio?

Q: I believe that life insurance companies benefit from higher interest rates . When I was much younger a-lot of people and families seemed to carry life insurance policies . But from what I can tell ,young people today could not care less about life insurance . Could I get your out look for these insurance companies in Canada and what could have the best upside , if any due to interest rates continuing to rise. . Thanks.

TD Bank sells GICs for several other banks. Suppose I purchase two GICs through TD Waterhouse, both for 100K: one held by Homequity Bank and one held by BNS. Is the CDIC insurance limited to 100K since I bought through TD, or would both GICs be covered?

Q: ABNB has come down significantly since the end of 2021. What are your thoughts about it and would you be a buyer now ?

Q: I own KRR in my portfolio. It is the only precious metals stock I own. My question is regarding the rising fuel costs associated with the mining process. Even if gold and silver go up a lot, wouldn't margins on producers be squeezed simply due to the rising cost of fuel?

If that is the case, would it make more sense to buy something like PHYS instead?
