Q: With the S&P's current P/E ratio at 27.93 far above the five-year average is it safe assume some profit taking might occur in the next few weeks? If capital gains aren't an issue, would it be wise to look at taking a portion of profits off the table post NVDIA earnings on companies with a high P/E?

Q: This question is about small TFSA with 98% Canadian equities with 32.06% total weight in the technical sector. Weight for LMN, SHOP and DSG are close to 5i Bal portfolio but CSU is at 14.8% (Thank you). All these names are at profit.
Question 1 -I am contemplating selling CSU to reduce Canadian exposure and buying MSFT or NVDA What is your opinion of such a move? Any other suggestions in technical space?
Question 2 - This TFSA has no exposure in Consumer Staples. Would you suggest buying COST instead of US technical name? Any other suggestions and entry price?
Much Thanks for your very valuable comments.

Q: Hi I am 40 years old. I currently pay into a pension and am scheduled to retire in 2040. I have mostly been growth focused throughout my entire portfolio and am wondering when I should begin to consider a more balanced style. Ie income vs growth. Just to limit any risks. Thanks for any advice

Q: I’ve heard that data centre spending between now and 2030 will fall into three buckets: CPUs, Ai accelerators, and infrastructure, where CPUs are the slowest growing segment. Do you agree with that framework, and if so, could you briefly explain the difference between these three areas and recommend the best companies in each? Thank you.
Q: I am wondering about protecting myself from downward moves of NVDA price based on earnings results and news next week. My strategy so far is limited selling as the stock has ramped up beyond any "normal" I have seen.
Of course the dichotomy is:
- Fear that the bubble / AI hype will fizzle and my paper gains never materialize, and;
- Trepidation that I will regret selling another single share if NVDA's future stays bright.
So would options be a way to play this or is this quite expensive? It appears that ATM puts are $7.00 for AUG30. A full 5% premium to protect downside. Crazy? Other Thoughts? Thanks as always - you guys are amazing.

Q: I am overweight both of these names. I am hoping for a recovery pop at which time I will seek to sell down a bit and spread the money out. Can you please give me a few other names that you might suggest for growth at this time? I sold booking holdings at a loss so please exclude that name. I am too afraid to buy back smci due to its wild volatility. I was consider coherent, Motorola, and Monolithic Power but am open to other suggestions. Thank you.

Q: Hello Team,
I am setting up a TFSA account for my son, he would be saving this money for a house down the road (at least 5-7 years away).
I was thinking maybe purchasing 3-4 stocks and 1 ETF for him to hold, can you let me know what you would recommend. We are going to deposit the max he can deposit which is 19.5K.
Looking to maximize growth.
Thanks.

Q: I was planing to start a position before earning release but have read that Nvdia’s latest artificial intelligence chips (Blackwell B200) may be delayed by three months or more due to design flaws. I’m wondering what impact this could have on the stock. Thankyou.
Q: I currently hold NVDA in non-registered account and two registered accounts. In view of the poor performance and perhaps a low future growth in the automotive industry, I am thinking of selling my position in the non-registered account, harvest a capital loss and initiate a position in NVDA. I am trying to take advantage of the pullback in NVDA and increase the growth profile. Understanding your limitation in providing advice on this move, your opinion of the pros and cons of this switch would be appreciated.

Q: Hi Peter…I see both SIS & NFI set 52 week highs today with NFI up 40% year to date. I have owned SIS for a number of years thanks to 5i, so thanks again! I also owned NFI about 10 years ago and sold my shares in stages generating a profit every time, and yes the profits shrank as time passed! I know you’re negative on NFI, but you also recommend buying stocks which set new highs. I’m considering selling my Super Micro and buying either NFI, SIS, MDA or SHOP. Of the 4 I have an existing position in SIS only. I believe I am an “aggressive” investor but Super Micro’s roller coaster ride is testing me. I have owned NVDA since 2017 which I consider to be a core holding. Maybe I don’t need to own 2 chip makers? I’m perplexed, could you give me some guidance?
Thanks,
Jim
Thanks,
Jim

Q: Just read a very interesting artice by Tony Seba regarding his prediction of a humanoid disruption in the not too distant future where robots and AI repalce much of the labour market, starting with more basic functions and developing into more complex. He believes its not as far off as we may think. He believes this to be of critical importance for the success of countries moving forward. Thoughts on his theme? Which individual companies do you think may benefit from a prediction such as his, as well as are their ETFs which invest in a basket of such companies (both AI and robotic)?

Q: Good Morning,
It seems like the market has recently decided that the AI investing theme has peaked, and somewhat earlier than expected. Would you agree, and is it perhaps time to consider selling some winners?
It’s unlikely that SMCI will return to its highs from earlier in the year, and it’s a very different company, but is the current market sentiment likely to continue pulling down other AI-related winners like Vertiv and even Nvidia?
Thanks for your thoughts on this.
Brad

FFH is an example where my profits was 40% now less than 10% ? (this is my worst performer so please answer specifically what you suggest buy, sell or hold). . Please advise if I should take some profits or just ride it out. List in order of preference...Buy sell ,or hold Thanks for your thoughts on this dilemma
