Q: Hi
I hold stocks of Starbucks, Parkland, Parklawn, TC Energy.
I would like to get your outlook on these companies going forward in this volatile market. Do you see them as having good fundamentals and re-bounding back in 2021?
With the US election taking place in Nov 2020 and if Biden is elected, how will this affect overall market and will we see the stock market on the downside again?

Thanks
Kristelle

Q: I am 72 and retired. I have been building a part of my portfolio (58.4%) for the last three years with ETFs. Current holdings are (% weight of portfolio in brackets): zwh (10.5), zwu (9.1), zwc (8.5), mft (5.9), xtr (5.3), xhy (5.2), zwe (4.7), cdz (3.2), zdh (3.2) & zre (2.9). With 24.2% cash, I plan on slowly adding to these etfs. How would you do this? The remainder of my portfolio is in dividend paying Canadian large caps.
Thanks, Jim

Q: Hi 5i, David's Tea has released results. Please provide comments on their results and especially where they indicate they may undertake a formal restructuring if they are not successful in negotiations with landlords. What would a restructuring mean to the common shareholders? Would management be obligated to give shareholders a fair equity value in the Newco?

Q: Hi 5iTeam,
I'm interested in taking a position in an ETF that's focused on chips. Of the three ETFs listed above, which one would be your choice and why?
Also are there ETFs traded in C$ that are focused on US chip makers?
Cheers,

Q: What, if any, impact to Primo do you see from Nestle's announced explorations into getting out of the water business in N America? During the Cott-to-Primo business transition, Primo's financial statements are rather more difficult to digest, but at the very least, Primo doesn't seem to have the capability to buy much of the Nestle water business. What other companies might benefit from Nestle's divestiture, and how might that affect Primo?
Deduct credits as required for multiple questions. Thanks.

Q: Re Fred’s question about longterm gains on RY
canadastockchannel.com has this info
If bought on Jan4, 2000, $1 worth of RY would be worth $12.46
assuming dividends are re-invested on a tax free basis (ex. RRSP)
If dividends are not re-invested, on a total return basis (including dividends, but still no tax paid) your $1 is worth $8.75.
You can enter different dates to get exactly what you want.
I personally find this type of analysis instructive but I know not everyone is a fan.
