Q: For a stock price to double in 5 years requires an average gain of about 15% compounded, annually. Would you please rank these 12 stocks in order for the likelihood, in your opinion, they will double in price in the next 5 years. Roughly how many of these 12 would you expect to achieve that target? Assuming no major long term market melt down which would preclude good stock performance over this period. CTS, DCBO, DND, DOO, ECN, GOOS, GSY, KXS, MG, NVEI, PHO, TIXT.

Q: I currently hold 3% positions in FTT, TCL.A, ARE in the Industrial; as well as MG and NFI in Consumer Discretionary (I realize that these are in a different sectors but are also semi-industrial). I am thinking of adding MAL as a long term recovery play. FTT, & ARE had been added last year for these reasons. I'm quite bullish in NFI and see it as having the most upside in the short term.

Do you see this as being a good addition/strategy?

To fund a 1.5% position MAL is there one company that you see as not having as much "upside" that you would trim by half, or a combination that you would suggest trimming from?

Thanks!
Cory

Q: I’m adding to a partially established portfolio (growth-oriented, long-term). I’m interested both in taking advantage of the recent tech downturn (although not too much, as I’m already somewhat tech-heavy) and in further diversifying. Two questions:

1. I own partial positions in the following securities and am looking to add more. Could you rank them in your order of preference for purchasing now? Any you’d avoid buying now?

WELL, SHOP, ATZ, STC, PHO, ENGH, KXS

2. I’m considering buying positions in the following new securities (not easily comparable, I know), with a view to diversity and growth, as well as US exposure. Could you rank them in order of preference for purchasing now? Any you’d avoid buying now?

BNS, SLF, PLC, MG, LAC, REAL, TFII, NVDA.US, ROKU.US, SQ.US

Thanks for your great work and please feel free to dock me for two questions.

Q: I will be converting my RSP to a RIF next year resulting in my income increasing some 50 % and with money I do not not need for my present lifestyle. The account is full of banks, reits, pipelines, infrastructure , utilities etc., as is my non registered account which is the same size as the RSP. Does it make sense to adjust the non registered account to more growth stocks , and hence less income ? I I have listed some prospective stocks. A crazy idea to reduce income and perhaps this is outside your.venue but any thoughts are appreciated. Derek

Q: I currently own a 5% position in Magna for some industrial exposure. Looking to add another name at a 3% position to get to my 8% desired weighting. This excludes transports which is separate in my sector weightings. Can you recommend one or two names in Canada and the U.S. that might be of interest?

Thank you,
Jason

Q: Good afternoon - I took positions in the above several months ago, thanks to your suggestion, and all have fared quite well. However, both MG and LUN are at what appears to be their highest levels in several years while NTR enjoyed a higher valuation years back. All three have immodest P/E ratios at this time. Do you foresee additional loft to their prices or is it perhaps already time to do a bit of harvesting? Thank you.

Q: Bought BAD a few months back as a recovery play and have done ok however recent results cause me to question the growth prospects. Should I continue to hold or sell and add to my existing positions in SIS, NFI, QSR and MG. All good recovery plays in my opinion.
Thanks

Q: Of the companies listed, which one would you start a new half position in today for a potential 5 plus year hold in a balanced portfolio. And would any in particular benefit from reopening? I understand that I would need to keep on eye on the cyclicals with a view to exiting if needed.

Q: Hi 5i team
I would like to thank you for all your sound advice since inception. I would need to trim up to 5 stocks from this portfolio. If you were in that position, which ones would you cut starting with first to cut up to fifth. These stocks are in a rrsp with equal percentages. Thanks. Gilles

Q: Hi 5i team,

Pls comment on MRE's results. Also do you any headwinds mentioned to also impact other parts mfgrs like Magna or Linamar.

As a side note, I'm waiting on a new 2021 pickup and my dealer said I'm lucky as their being told to no longer accept orders for trucks due to shortages on parts.

Thx
