Q: can you please explain the price action on Ithaca today? Can you buy today and still get $1.95 for the shares because they are forced to buy the remainder at $1.95?
Q: I have a question about 1787
Can HNL continue to pay it's dividend if the future plays out according to it's latest report? How are they paying it now?
Generally the Q&A answer my questions to my satisfaction.
I have about an 8% holding of EIF in my TSFA and a long term holding horizon. I have held it for a long time and it has been good to me. Given the current pullback and "short" concerns, I am thinking of reducing my risk by selling 1/2 position. Is this something you would recommend, or would you be in the "ride it out" category.
Q: Do shop and square compete in the same space and if so which one do you see as being stronger and why?Where do you see square possibly in 2-3 years thank you
I was surprised to see that you sold the entire position of CXI in the balanced portfolio on May 1st, considering I asked April 19th which 5 companies I should start with as I built up the portfolio, and you included CXI in your top picks:
"AIF, PKI, MG, SYZ and CXI look attractive today"
In any event, I understand things can change quickly. Do you think CXI is worth holding still, I'm down 5%.
Also, I'm ready to purchase 5 more names in the portfolio, can you let me know which are looking most attractive today?
Q: I am trying to determine when share certificates were issued. my father is elderley and can not recall. I have the certificate numbers that were recorded on a piece of paper but with no date. is it possible to determine the date and if so how would I do this? I do not know what broker was used.
Thanks for your help.
Q: This is a followup to my question re: the class action suite filed against EFN. You replied asking for a reference to a link.
Here is what I have extracted from a news item on my BMOInvestorline account.
In particular, the complaint alleges that throughout the Class Period, defendants made materially false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that (i) CGI's equity contribution to its joint venture with Element Financial Corp. was $68.2 million, rather than the $100 million contribution the Company reported in its public filings; (ii) the Company is being actively investigated by the SEC; and (iii) that as a result of the foregoing, CGI's publicly disseminated financial statements were materially false and misleading.
If you suffered a loss during the class period and wish to obtain additional information, please contact Joseph Klein, Esq. by telephone at 212-616-4899 or visit http://www.kleinstocklaw.com/pslra-sa/celadon-group-inc?wire=1.
1) I have already greatly benefited from your service during the two months that I have been a subscriber. Previously, I had subscribed to ShareOwner, but sadly the founder Dr. Bart passed away. From ShareOwner I learned about ROE, debt/equity ratio, earning retention ratio, asset turnover etc. However, I presume there are some differences between the analysis for small to mid-sized stocks. For small to mid-sized stocks, should I focus on cash flow growth ratio, revenue growth ratio or any other specific ratios? What reading material would you recommend for learning about analyzing small to mid-sized stocks?
2) What is the relationship between the price of crude oil to the stock performance of oil-related consumer stock (eg. ATD.B, PKI)?
3) Having recently seen in the news that Puerto Rico has filed for bankruptcy, how do you think this will impact the financial market as many financial institutions hold Puerto Rico's bonds. Do you think this will impact Canada's mortgage rates and how so?
Q: I have LUN as exposure to Cu, Ni and Zn. Seems to be the lowest cost producer, and financial position seems OK...Please let me know your thoughts about this company and its future prospects. Makes sense or should I consider other companies in the sector?
Thank you
